Is Moore getting all that playing time based upon what he did against Irvine?

This and the lack of players on the bench that is a scoring threat? RMB, Davis, Domingo, Singer. I don't recall Singer scoring 30+ pts during his time at Cal. Plus, Moore needs all the minutes to improve and learn from his mistakes this year; next year the team is his with no proven veteran scorer to support him.

Oregon has better players, they're playing at home where they haven't lost for 36 games, and they shoot the lights out and shut down or shaky offense. They have pounded every other team not named UCLA at home. Pretty tough to overcome.

Excuses aside, as 4th,5th, or 6th best team in the conference we are lacking. Looked to me like IR's facial expressions indicate he may be sorry he stayed for two.

I just recall Sam Singer making a couple of shots and being immediately taken out by Conzo against Wsu. Same thing happened with Kimg yesterday early in the game...

Coming into the season I assumed Sam was going to be the starting PG, but Moore's breakout and season-saving game vs. Irvine cemented his role as the starting PG. Charlie is going to have a heck of a career here at Cal, but he probably is biting off more than he can chew as the starting PG. Secondary ball-handler or a sixth man role might have been more appropriate. It's hard when your PG has more TO's than assists. Singer has a 2 to 1 A:TO ratio (yet again, as he's had in every season he's played), yet his minutes are dwindling. Of course he looks bad playing off the ball--he's not a shooter.

Yes, it is the coaching. Emphasis on defense is not excuse for no offense. Defense is only hustle and discipline; offense requires greater knowledge and vision of the game. I fear our coach hides behind his "defense" posture.

I think it is coaching as well. I saw Utah who I think has one above average player, Kuzma, destroy WSU by 40 a few days after we barely beat them. The offense is an improvement in my opinion from the past two years when Coach Martin would allow Ty Wallace to put his head down and drive into a triple team...

Let's be fair. Utah has more than one "above average player". Lorenzo Bonam is good. Freshman Devon Daniels has had a really good season. Their mid-season transfers Collette and Barefield are averaging double figures in points and Utah has played really well since both became eligible.

We had Jaylen Brown and Rabb (a #3 overall pick and a guy who is a lottery pick). These two were alongside an EXPERIENCED and talented group which included Jordan Mathews, Bird, Ty Wallace (a versatile player who Coach Martin raved about). Yet we lose to the Richmond Spiders in the regular season and eventually to the juggernaut known as Hawaii in the tournament.

For those who say the talent isn't there, are you expecting 2012 Kentucky talent with 6 first round picks? Come on, how many coaches out of 300+ division one programs would love to have Rabb, Jaylen, and "normal" college level players..

Last thing about Jordan Mathews. He played very well as a frosh under Monty and is playing extremely well this year for undefeated Gonzaga. Yet, under coach Martin I always felt the offense which was being run was simply inept at get guys good looks..

Well Sam got into quick foul trouble and then we were down to rarely used chauca at pg

A better measure of last year was the regular season where we earned a 4 seed

Apropos of this: Was Oregon that much worse last year when we ran them out of the gym by whatever absurdly high number that it was?
