So we were concerned about a head coach who hired Huffnagel and not a guy involved with a program that doled out prostitutes on recruting trips?

This is a joke. Cal is in the PAC-12. We'll be worse than San Jose State next year. Mike Williams should be fired immediately. No offense to Wyking Jones, but this is not a PAC-12 caliber hire. I am stunned, really. This is horrible.

I am confused at the "5 year deal" part ... seems like a lot for this guy

It looks like we will be able to improve our seats next year. Might move down six rows.

Given that Williams apparently decided that prior head coaching experience is unnecessary for a Pac-12 head coaching job, I would really love to hear the explanation for selecting Jones over, say, Dennis Gates.

Retaining this year's recruiting class? That' a big one I can think of.

Whether or not this is true I'm not going to dump on Wyking Jones. I'll wait to see who the assistants are, which players and recruits stay on board, and what Jones and Williams have to say.

Does anyone have any reliable information that this is real?

I'm willing to be patient to see how this all pans out. If he can end up keeping Moore in place, and re-affirm the current commitments that we have, then perhaps the sky is not falling after all.

Also curious to see if Sarr comes on board. No matter how this whole "search" played out - you have to admit that many of you were clamoring for someone with an understanding of how Cal works and were wary of going down the path of the re-tread. Give the guy a few weeks on the job before we start burning the place down......
