Well I don't wish harm on anyone, and hope that Porter gets well.

Besides that I just think Cuonzo is a terrible offensive coach, and an even worse game manager especially in the last 5 minutes when the game is on the line. He really lost me when he basically checked out of the Bakersfield game. He was probably thinking of Porter more than the NIT game.

Teaching defense he is good.

Recruiting is hit and miss, and the class management was poor.

Not a good fit for us. Had 3 Mickey Dees around and another drafted (Ty) and won 0 NCAA games.

Can Porter still be a one and done???

That would make it pretty interesting ....

Instead of playing one year under CM's system, this might save his draft stock...

Yes. All that counts is that he be 1 year past his HS class graduation

I mean Kyrie played like 10 games in college and was picked #1.

I recall so many here swooning about CM. When he spoke he was "almost Jeffersonian", when he brought 5* players in it was "why 'not' Cal?" ...but when the refs rolled the ball out on the floor, yeah...he coached exactly as I would imagine Thomas Jefferson would, and those stars looked more like shooting stars falling to earth. I look forward to how WJ does. I heap no praise before its time...ie show me on the field with 2 stars or 5 stars I dont truly care. Beliigerent, terse, loquacious, O bama esque at the podium, who gives a flying sheeeet. I want a coach who is maddeningly able to do more with less, win consistently when he should, and dangerous as a junkyard dog when teams loaded with diaper dandies play us. The team no one wants to play.

Absolutely. No requirement to play in college.
Can go overseas, sit on but, be injured.
Just one year after high school is all.
Intl players do NOT have the 1 year after hs rule.

I wonder how Missouri is enjoying their CM-Porter SR-JR investment.

Obviously a huge loss for Missouri. They've looked pretty bad without him.

Tough blow for the kid and I'm not so sure it's as simple as the Mizzou comments that they expect a full and complete recovery. That lumbar discectormy surgery has been a mixed bag for athletes. Tiger hasn't ever full recovered from it. It took a big bite out of Tony Romo. Dwight Howard struggled the year after his but seemed to regain most of his form after that. I'd expect it to be somewhat of a red flag if he goes pro as expected.

And accurate. Look how much better Cuonzo's McD's are playing in the NBA than they did at Cal. Talk about doing less with more.

Don't wish bad on the kid at all. Sucks for sure. But wow how about +1 for the karma gods. CM has such a disgraceful exit from Cal and pulled some shady **** at Mizzuo...couldn't have worked out better for CM

well Missouri still has the younger brother who was a top 100 player (although he moved up a class)

but they almost lost to a division 2 team yesterday. that ain't good

for the injured porter, it might be a good idea to heal up and immediately go into the draft. the nba scouts saw enough of him during HS, in All-Star teams (Mcd, USA, etc) and in his exhibition vs Kansas.

as long as he can get a pretty good physical and some workouts showing that he's 100% recovered, he will still be a lottery.

if he returns to college, he just risks injury again

p.s. some of the above is based on ESPN

Say what you will about Cuonzo, etc., but this whole thing stinks.

That article is written so poorly I can't even make sense of it. Did one of the Porter's pass away? Or are they just trying to explain that both are now out with injuries.

Missouri with what would appear to be a good win over St. John's today:
