marked difference in the players in this game with our athletes. they are longer and more athletic and faster and rebound better. no way we can be competitive with either team.

Remember when the kid writers on a Cal fan site that shall remain unnamed threw a hissy fit over Cal interviewing Musselman?

Good thing we didn't hire a coach whose team is now undefeated, has two or three 4-star recruits, and is ranked in the top ten, right, kids? Cal basketball is sooooo much better off for not hiring him, right?

Musselman definitely has some baggage and I don't doubt many would view him with caution. OTOH, he can coach and recruit, 2 skills that are not universal in every candidate. His squad does have the look of one cobbled together through the "free agency" that is now rampant in the college game. How many could qualify (or stay eligible) at Cal?

I don't recall people questioning Cuonzo for recruiting one-and-done players and bringing in transfers.

I never got the full story with musselman.

Did we just not go after him hard cause of his baggage?

Or was he just not that interested in us?

A little of both?

After this year, he's going to get a job anywhere he wants anyways. So probably a good move on his part not to come to cal.
