The Sand Diego State win was very encouraging. The difference was remarkable. I attended both the SDS and USF games this past week and saw better D, better ball movement, better communication, and frankly better energy.
The player rotation stood out
At this point in the season, we need to play deeper into the bench and work out the best rotations in non-conference games.
The player rotation stood out
- Against SDS Cal had nine players with 9 or more minutes.
- Against USF Cal only had six players with more than 10 minutes each.
- Harris-Dyson hurt his finger before the USF game and only played 2 minutes. JHD played 13 minutes against SDS. JHD brings defensive intensity and allows others to rest for the final push
- The other big change was a Anticevich. Grant had 13 points in 26 minutes against SDS and did not play on Wednesday.
