Congratulations to you cb80. That makes approximately 532 posts you've made with the same theme, similar variations, and the same question, (along with same conclusion).

Wyking Jones should be fired.
(Hope that satisfies your fix for today). Now how about trying a new topic?

Not to single you out as a lot of people have been doing the same, but do you feel this kind of repetitive commentary to each of cb80's post provides for more engaging discussion? At least the guy posts new data. Personally, I found the comparison above somewhat interesting. No one is forcing anyone to click on his threads though.

I get your point Ptown. CB80's obsession just amazes me, I guess to the point where now I am the one obsessed with his repetitive posts. But you are right on target, I will let it go from now on. Thx.

It's an interesting comparison because Hopkins was hired on March 19, 2017 for $1.8/year and Jones on March 24, 2017 for $1.1/year. We were paying Cuonzo $2.1/year and presumably received some money for the breach of contract, so we could have easily hired Hopkins.

And I bet there were several other coaches hired that year in our price range that have significantly outperformed Jones and were clearly better candidates at the time, not just in hindsight. If only we had an administration at that time that was semi capable and/or cared...

When has Cal ever had an administration that was semi-capable and/or cared when it comes to athletics? I've been following Cal for 61 years, and I can't identify one. That's why we usually suck in the sports that count--football and men's basketball. Time will tell if the current administration is different, but I'm not optimistic.

Responding to both good comments about the administration. . .

Yes, Cal has been historically inferior, but two years ago had to be the nadir. Lame duck athletic director and lame duck chancellor, so anyone looking at Cal wouldn't even know who their boss would be. Look, no one decent was coming to Cal at that point in time.

Within the next two weeks we will see if Jim Knowlton can make a decision or he is more of the same BS.
