Sueing Earns Pac-12 All-Academic Spot
Sophomore Starter Recognized For 3.275 GPA

SAN FRANCISCO In addition to leading California men's basketball on the court, sophomore starter Justice Sueing is helping to lead his team in the classroom as well. The standout was named a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention, the league announced today.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Sueing owns a 3.275 cumulative GPA. While he has yet to declare a major, he intends to pursue the pre-med field. His academic success has come alongside another strong campaign on the court for the Bears, which has seen Sueing average a team-high 14.5 points and 6.1 rebounds.

Sueing and the Bears open the Pac-12 Tournament against Colorado in a Wednesday afternoon matchup at T-Mobile Arena. Tipoff from Las Vegas is set for 2:30 p.m., live on Pac-12 Networks.

I believe the median grade for undergrads at Stanford is 3.5.

Big congrats to Justice!

If they skewed the GPAs vs. difficulty to achieve, he would be first team.

Interesting - no USC or UCLA or UDub on the list. Disproportionately the state schools and easy grading. Stanford.

Wait, are you insinuating that there is a lack of rigor in the General Studies major at Arizona?

The players ahead of him don't beat him at Cal. More than half the schools shouldn't even be eligible for the honor.

I'm still astounded Brook Lopez had to sit out for failing to maintain minimum academic progress at Stanford. Kicking butt for the fantasy team though.

Only 2 majors under 3.0, and those over 2.9!

By that standard neither the coach nor the AD could possibly get less than C grades.

Also interesting (to me anyway) is how few of these guys are major contributors on the court.
