Steph out with a broken hand. Time to go for that lottery pick.

Pretty ideal really.

If Steph is out for an extended amount of time, this could be exactly what they need to become the next spurs

Warriors trade Russell for someone like Covington, get a top 5 pick, get Klay back and the trade exemption.

Yes it'll suck for dubs fans this year. But this is really best case scenario long term. Need Russell to play better so they can trade his a$$

Think of the ticket price hikes at Chase, and now how those prices will plummet. Hope you didn't buy season tix at the jacked up prices.
lots of empty seats last night, looked like Levi's stadium
isn't Levi stadium full now with the 49ers rolling?
uh no, there were lots of empty seats last week at Levi's.

So, it's widely accepted that Draymond's slap at Lebron's underside cost them a title.

But now how many future titles can it be said that Draymond cost the Warriors?

Durant was asked whether the incident played a role in his decision to leave the Warriors.

"I mean, your teammate talked to you that way, you think about it a bit," he said. "But ... we talked about it, but definitely [it was a factor], for sure, I'm not going to lie about it."

Asked to clarify why he eventually left the Warriors, Durant said he "just felt like I needed a switch."

Scorsese could have used that for Travis' rant if the movie was shot in The City of Angels instead of New York.

Curry out at least 3 months. Sit him and Klay for the season get a high pick for next year, hell maybe even #1. If you can get a good trade for Russell, especially a pick/ picks (probably tough) do it. Surround the three old timers with youth. Could be the best result the Warriors could have had.

How many healthy bodies on this roster have a ring? Near total decimation!

GSW got the most out of the 6 year run...

a. solid playoff team with promise..
b. 5 NBA finals in row, with 3 rings

2019/20 will be "lost season" ... recall year David Robinson was out for year and win lotto?
oh, btw, used that pick to select Tim Duncan.

not that there is the next Tim Duncan in the 2020 draft.. but let's see what shakes out..

the run as long as it lasted was fun to watch.

Since there won't be much to discuss about the Warrior's in this thread, it's my go to NBA thread:

" Through 76 career games, Luka Doncic and LeBron James put up remarkably similar numbers:

Doncic: 21.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 6.0 apg
James: 21.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5.8 apg
Fast-forward to Friday: In his 77th career game, the 20-year-old Doncic faced off against his childhood idol for the third time and it was glorious (Lakers won in OT):

Doncic: 31 points, 13 rebounds, 15 assists
James: 39 points, 12 rebounds, 16 assists
The bottom line: Entering Friday, we knew we were watching the past, present and future of basketball collide (to me, James is the past and the present, while Doncic is the present and the future).

But to have them become the youngest and oldest players in NBA history to put up 30-10-15 on the same night, let alone in the same game, was so perfect it almost felt scripted." Axios*

*If you copy and paste a name like Doncic on this site that has accents over the c then it just eliminates the letter so the name posted as Doni (until I went back and edited)

The Warriors "dynasty" is finished. You are looking at 3-5 years near the bottom. They have been there before. Just in time for Chase and the expensive seat licenses.

Care to define "near the bottom?" Does that mean no playoffs?

This will be the Warriors roster next year

Steph
Klay
Draymond
whoever they trade for Russell (or keep Russell - unlikely in my opinion)
Looney
at worst a top 10 pick (great chance at a top 5)
17 mil trade exception
mid level

paschall
poole
smailagic
evans

-----

There's quite a few unknowns there. But there's a ton of potential upside if Meyers and Co make the right decisions. To say they would be near the bottom next year is presumptuous at best considering that their top 8 players for next year are currently NOT even playing right now.

Latest crazy "hot take" rumor: In 2021 Warriors go all in for Giannis Antetokoumnpo and dump Green and/or Thompson to clear cap space.

By the time Curry and Thompson are ready to play again the Warriors will be out of the playoff picture. I doubt they will bring back either one this year. Risk further injury for a team going nowhere?

They have a chance to get some PR. Offer to buy back those overpriced seat licenses.

BTW I think the Warriors are getting exactly what they deserve. They screwed the city of Oakland and a lot of fans who supported them through bad and good times. It is the time for the Santa Clara Forty Niners.

I agree with this, Ducky. This will be an extremely rough season but if Myers/Kerr/Lacob do it right, the team could be set up well for a couple years and also in position to add top level free agents into an organization with a new arena in an area ripe for investment opportunities by very wealthy players.

..but I thought Joe Lacob said he and his venture capitalist buddies had a formula and a plan that was going to keep the rest of the NBA in the Warriors' trail dust for many years into the future.

Interesting comment heard on warriors telecast, apparently Theo has been the one working with paschall on his shooting. Would've loved to have been able to keep that guy on staff

Would love to see cal play as hard as the dubs have the last couple games.
