only first pre-season game, and even the regular season doesn't mean a lot

on the other hand, the lakers look good, and the warriors look bad

I don't think the warriors will look much better until Klay returns, and they at least need to find a rim protector

even the lakers second string center looks better than anything the warriors have

Hopefully the Lakers will peak in the preseason.

Looney out..... Callie-stein out..... Alec burks out...... thats 3 of our top 6 out for a practice game and your calling it?
Great analysis - Not!!!
Warriors switch 7 un athletic dudes, yes including Jordan for 7 athletic dudes all under 25. We will be better than last year once klay is back. will be a 7 seed or maybe 8 but teams will be losing games to avoid playing us.
Yep, Lakers are one of the top pre-season teams this year!!! Oh how the mighty have fallen.

I only watched the highlights I posted, but also heard some analysis, but yeah, I forgot about Looney.

Not sure about the other two you named, but I don't follow the NBA much, so don't worry about any of my NBA analysis

What I did see was LeBron and Davis teaming up to thrash the Warriors team on the floor, and Russell doing nothing (2-9, 0-4 from 3, 1 assist, 1 TO) with the Warriors shooting 39% from the floor, 26% from deep, and out rebounded by 9

I think I did include a disclaimer that pre-season games don't mean anything

Way too early to worry.

Davis is one of a kind and Cauley-Stein is a decent 7' defender.

The West looks super tough and no one will replace KD this year.

It wouldn't be terrible if the Dubs missed the playoffs and got a good lottery pick this year, especially with Klay missing a lot of the season. Still not sure if Russell is a good fit when it'll push Klay to the 3 more.

Both Davis n Lebrun will play less than 60 games for the lakers. Davis is an injury magnet n Lebrun has a lot of miles on him.

Editorial: Warriors should stop being sore losers, pay their debt

"He boasted that the Warriors are playing in a far more sophisticated fashion than the rest of the league. "We've crushed them on the basketball court, and we're going to for years because of the way we've built this team," he said. But what really set the franchise apart, he said, was the way it operated as a business. "We're light-years ahead of probably every other team in structure, in planning, in how we're going to go about things," he said. "We're going to be a handful for the rest of the N.B.A. to deal with for a long time." Joe Lacob, March, 2016

Another way to look at it is....

Second highest revenue of any North American sports franchise. Only the Dallas Cowboys rake in more than the $700 million in annual revenue the Warriors are bringing in.

Hope that Russell is a good fit.

And if he isn't a good fit, hope he plays well enough that the W's can trade him for a star who is a better fit.

Since this is an NBA thread:

Playing with a sore shooting shoulder, Anthony Davis had his first breakout game as a Laker, scoring 40 points, grabbing 20 rebounds and setting a franchise record for free throws made (26) in a 120-91 win over the Grizzlies.

Why it matters: This is the second time in NBA history that a player has recorded at least 40 points, 20 boards and 25 made free throws in a game. The only other occurrence? Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game in 1962.

AD is also just the sixth Laker to ever put up 40 points and 20 rebounds, joining Elgin Baylor (did it 34 times), Chamberlain (5), George Mikan (4), Shaquille O'Neal (2) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (2). Axios

Didn't AD get the memo ?

This is a 3-point league. Big men are irrelevant.

Pretty ideal really.

If Steph is out for an extended amount of time, this could be exactly what they need to become the next spurs

Warriors trade Russell for someone like Covington, get a top 5 pick, get Klay back and the trade exemption.

Yes it'll suck for dubs fans this year. But this is really best case scenario long term. Need Russell to play better so they can trade his a$$

And Elgin Baylor, 34 times? Holy Schnikees!

Prompted a peak over at nbadraft.net. A bunch of no-name freshmen, except LaMelo Ball at #4. No way does Steve Kerr want that idiot family on his roster, but I'm surprised to see Ball listed at 6'8".

The Baines landing on it made me cringe. Certainly no Joe Theismann broken leg moment, but the mind imagines the pain.

Maybe Draymond can motivate the youngsters and teach them. Find a keeper or two.
Otherwise, go back to the unhealthy diet and rest up this season.

Think of the ticket price hikes at Chase, and now how those prices will plummet. Hope you didn't buy season tix at the jacked up prices.

It's not just the jacked up STH prices, they all had to pony up big $$$$ for seat licenses too.

Not sure I said anything about him being good.

But the dubs need a 3 for next year. And they need a 3 who can defend.

Who else do you suggest getting that a team would actually give up for Russell?

I'm not giving up Russell for a guy like Covington. I don't foresee Russell and Curry working together long-term though - not enough defense in the backcourt.

I'd rather see how Eric Paschall plays for the rest of the year than do that.
