Ducks shoot very well during warmups
Even some of their bigger players
We will certainly have our hands full

yeah, I know it was more than 30, but I didn't realize it was 14 threes (also 7 threes is only 21 points)Schroeder71 said:
HD-Bears were blown out by 35 and 42 Duck points came from 14 treys.

A few more random observations …
The video interview of Evelien was good as she explained how as only a soph last year, it was tough having to be the leader of a team full of freshmen
Her statement was very telling, and then it made even more sense when Cal ran a set play that didn't work (pass got kicked). She got the team's attention and said "RUN IT AGAIN". They ran the exact same play again, with a great entry pass to her, resulting in a basket.
In recent games, Samb has shown flashes of her offensive potential as a low post scorer. Today, she went 2-3 including a nice mid-range shot which I didn't know she had
Michelle is also showing some post scoring moves recently. The offensive side is coming together for both of them as sophs which bodes well for the future.
Elsnitz continues to impress with her fundamentals and hoops IQ. Next year she will be a very good player for us as she is still adjusting to the speed and athletes of D1 hoops (she also needs to improve her 3 point shooting, otherwise defenders will sit on her shot fakes)
I was surprised when Mia ran a fast break. Shows she is fast and confident as a dribbler, although the ducks got back on defense and she found herself in a crowd… losing the ball on her dribble
I can't go to all the games, but for a $15 reserved seat you can sit anywhere in the arena, and for a $10 general ticket you can sit anywhere except the seat backs (neither types of tickets have assigned seating). You can move around and be very close to the court, even hearing the coaches and players talk.
The 2/20 Palo Alto @ Ducks game could be interesting...wvitbear said:
Now that Oregon has got their players back, I think they and Stanford are on a different plane. Witness what Stanford did to WSU. I think many teams may get blown out.
fair points, although a lot of defenders would have trouble with SaballySchroeder71 said:
I agree that Fatou Samb is improving her offensive repertoire. The major problem for her is her lack of speed on defense. In a recent game, she gave up three consecutive three pointers by being unable to get out to the shooter. She cannot defend a shooter at the free throw line. When Sabally or any post drives on her, they usually score on a layup. I don't know how they can play her significant minutes when the game is close. bottom-line: her opponent is outscoring her during her time on the floor.
I agree that Michelle Onyiah seems to play out of control. She is too emotional. She is giving great effort while on the court but she is picking up personal fouls way too quickly. For her size, she is the best shot blocker on the team. Sela Heide gets more blocks per minute but she is 6-7.
Our men's team is playing 2 grads, 1 5th-year senior, 1 senior, 4 juniors, 1 soph, and 1 freshie.LegoBear said:
The men's team were able to fight vs two absolutely top notch teams while significantly out-talented.
The women's team has way more talent though. Unfortunately, they face a much better conference than the guys.stu said:Our men's team is playing 2 grads, 1 5th-year senior, 1 senior, 4 juniors, 1 soph, and 1 freshie.LegoBear said:

Our women are playing 1 grad, 0 seniors, 2 juniors, 2 redshirt sophs, 4 sophs, 1 redshirt freshie, and 1 freshie.
Big difference in experience. We'll get better.
