During the open practice, Coach Smith announced that the team will be headed to Spain (Madrid and Barcelona) and Croatia next week for about 10 days.

One opponent in Spain will be an All-Star team. Otherwise, no specific information about opponents. I imagine we will learn more between now and next Thursday.

The Bears get 10 days of practice time to prepare for this trip. They have four more sessions before they depart for Spain.

I think so.

It was listed on Calbears.com as "tentatively scheduled". The team and coaches have posted on Facebook and Instagram today but it's all about sightseeing and eating dinner in Madrid.

Tuesday's game is in Barcelona.

Our flight was initial flight was cancelled which got us into Madrid a day late, Saturday. So we didn’t play on same day of arrival to Madrid.

Bears were scheduled to play Matano Select in Barcelona today.

There's now a brief Instagram post with the Bears on a plane on their way to Croatia I'd imagine.
Leilani says in the post that they got the "W" and then another voice says that Kemery Martin "went crazy and had 21!"

Good news! Kemery Martin sat out last season so it's impressive that she's is up to speed so quickly. I think that she scored twenty points in Berkeley vs Cal during her sophomore year. Please link any box score that you can find even though it's an exhibition game. GO BEARS!

I doubt she would have played even if she had suited up. Coach Smith knows her capabilities.

This trip was a chance to get a good look at the transfers, the freshmen and Karisma Ortiz in game action before the season. I'm sure Coach Smith was pleased with what she saw.

I watched this brief video about ten times. I did not see last year's starters: Leilani McIntosh, Jazzy Green or Jayda Curry play. A white gal was shooting a free throw for Cal but I could not see her face. It likely was Mia Mastrov. The two starters from last season that participated were Evelien Lutje-Schipholt & Michelle Onyiah. I also noticed veterans, Ornela Muca & Sela Heide. The newbies that were in the video: Amaya Bonner (#2), Karisma Ortiz (#4), Claudia Langarita (#5), Kemery Martin (#15) & Peanut Tuitele (#33). Everyone made their shots. GO BEARS!
