I thought this might happen since LG recruited her. She is a senior at Harvard and graduating. Is this the last year ofthe extra year for Covid? LG left Cal in disarray, and now has a great opportunity at USC to build a Final Four team, plus playing in the Big Ten after next season. Opportunity, Opportunity with JuJu Watkins coming to play for the Trojans........I am sure NIL is a huge incentive for USC student athletes. What will become of the Pac-12?

USC vs UCLA will be some epic battles next year. Glad that with streaming services we will be able to watch.

It seemed like USC was interested in a few players that went elsewhere. This is a nice pick up and if they get Aneesha Morrow (who has them as a finalist) they will be tough to play against.

LG is the world's luckiest individual.

She gets rewarded for doing a poor job with extremely sweet gigs. Time and time again.

She literally leaves a program in shambles and bounces on a former recruit...and gets her to come back and play for her as a fully formed player (LG had obviously no hand in developing).

Kills me. She's an incredible marketer of herself and her vision.

ur 100% wrong, lindsay gottlieb (unlike the current head coach) actively embraces those that can support the program whether it be via recruiting, building a fanbase or donor support...she fully understands how things work & is a player's coach...fyi she shared quite a bit with me the details of the sabrina ionesco recruitment back in the day when cal women's basketball wuz on an upward trajectory...the misuse/lack of development of michelle onyiah should be a fireable failure & this team will lose every pac 12 game this season playing mid major transfers that lack the +1 athleticism that is required to play at this level

lindsay is not "lucky," she knows how to build a program(s), sabrina wuz the missing piece to a potential national championship team in berkeley & now she's building a legit national championship program at usc

Whoever you described sounds amazing. Can we get her/him as a coach?

I sure as hell know that person isn't LG.

Yeah, she showed that when she destroyed ours and left for a cushy nba job. I mean hey, in a way I have mad respect for her. She's always on the come up!

I don't like being critical, but I am resentful, not good on my part.......I see her as an opportunist......Big Ten, here she comes next year!!!!!

I don't know if enough outside shots will be available for McKenzie Forbes and Ju Ju Watkins.

I was down on LG in her final years due to the boring, predictable offense, the decline of defensive coaching, and the final drop-off in recruiting. But I have been impressed that she has actually listened to some mid-career senior mentors - John Beilein and Beth Burns - and has changed some things in her approach after returning to the college game.

Our own biggest problem now is that instead of seeking change, Knowlton instead went with continuity, but lacking the senior mentors.

Perhaps the USC donors also have something to do with her strong recruiting too, but besides that USC has some fundamental recruiting advantages

the irony in all of this is that after michelle onyiah graduates with her berkeley degree, there is a very high probability that she's gonna be a grad transfer back home to usc to compete for a national championship with coach lindsay

No doubt. But players also want to go where they can win and to play for a coach that knows how to win. For many years, we were actually out-recruiting USC when they didn't have that kind of coach.

A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP?! LOL

Lg will never make it past the second round. Unless she's coaching another coach's recruits she didn't have to develop, like here at Cal.

"Very high probability"? lol. Says who?
Why $C? Michelle has no connection to LG. She was recruited by Charmin.

Lindsay's Record at Cal:
179-89 (66.8%)
86-58 in Conference (59.7%)
7 Post-Season Appearances

Charmin's Record at Cal:
37-65 (36.3%)
10-51 in Conference (16.4%)
Zero Post-Season Appearances

I don't know if Lindsay can win a National Championship at USC, but at least there is hope.
