2023-24 Men's Basketball Roster - California Golden Bears Athletics (calbears.com)

Six incoming transfers and two frosh recruits will make-up the 13 scholarship player roster. Two walk-ons return from last season and will max out the team at 15 members.

I'm not sure what the point was in posting that link on the women's basketball forum. FYI. They are still missing pics for 1 player and 4 coaches.

Charmin will make sure her roster pics/bios and new coach pic/bio will be squared away in due time.

I'm more curious about the schedules for both teams.

I think Gus is a new walk-on so we have one more scholarship if we want to use it

HD-you're likely accurate. To be honest, I did not know the identity of Gus Larson when I saw him listed on the roster.

I posted this here because I have a feeling that Mark Madsen is going to work and coach circles around Charmin Smith. In this case, he has completed photos of half of his new roster. Charmin Smith still hasn't done that for her three transfers.

So far I like what Mark Madsen has done but I don't judge coaches on the timing of team photos.

I just noticed that 7 out of the 13 scholarship players on the roster are foreignors.

Cal won two national championships this year, Men's swimming and Men's rowing. If you examine the rosters, you will see a similar, or least comparable make up. In addition, Men's Water Polo, another highly successful program at Cal, also has top student athletes who call home another country other than the US.
So, one could say that Charmin is going down a path that has worked at Cal.

We also won Men's water polo in the fall, unless by "this year" you mean 2023.

No, I meant the school year...I had in my head they just missed...my bad....

International players: Davidson, Chen, Anastsieken, Schipholt, Elsnitz, Muca and now the 3 newest ones. Just the last two haven't done much.

Elsnitz looked great in her one game before she tore up her knee.
