2025 acc tournament in greensboro, north carolina:

current acc standings:

1) notre dame 15-0 (#1 ranked team in the nation, AVOID at all costs except championship game)
2) north carolina state 13-2
3) north carolina 12-3
4) louisville 12-3
5) florida state 11-4
6) duke 11-4
7) cal 10-5
8) georgia tech 9-6

note: the tiebreaker for seeding purposes is the head to head match

as the winner of the #8 vs #9 game will result in a next game near lock loss to notre dame, it's absolutely critical to be seeded #7 or better & win the head to head games against teams with the same record

cal defeated florida state so in a realistic best case scenario the bears could earn a #6 seeding which is important as the #6 & #7 seeds stay on the other side of the bracket from the irish until the acc championship game

bottom line: a #6 or #7 seeding allows cal to most likely defeat a fatigued much lower seeded team that is playing their 2nd game within 24 hours...then the bears would play nc or nc state at a "neutral site" with 10,000+ of their fans in attendance but both of these teams are beatable

so the bears gotta win out to control their acc tournament destiny to finish the regular season 25-6 with a national ranking probably in the low 20s & still an opportunity to earn a top 16 seeding & homecourt advantage in the ncca 1st weekend games at haas pavillion

hoops, DEFENSE wins basketball games (which is why the men's program is mediocre) & predictably charmin opted to guard the hokies elite center with an undersized jayda instead of gabby with her length

giving up 87 points to a team that don't got any +1 athletes is just poor coaching (the lack of mental development with michelle) & lack of in game adaptive scheming (bringing/collapsing defenders to help onyiah and/or playing abigor who is being underutilized)

this is a special generational team, unfortunately the coaching & cal athletic department selling/branding/marketing of these unique individuals is not on the same level
