After six long years in the wilderness, ESPN's latest bracketology forecasts us in the NCAA tournament as a #11 seed and as part of nine teams from the ACC.

Still a #11 seed in today's (11/26) bracketology update.

fyi:

Michigan State #7
Vanderbilt #9
Arizona #10

We can improve our position with wins in Palm Springs.

I think Arizona is rated too high.

Cal is now a #10 seed in Charlie Creme's Bracketology released today.

Creme: Two conferences will have at least 10 teams in the NCAA tournament. The latest bracketology projection has double-digit selections for the ACC (10), Big Ten and SEC.

With conference realignment creating these massive leagues, the number of NCAA tournament teams from each was bound to grow. Couple that with missed opportunities by some prominent mid-majors -- limiting the likelihood of at-large bids coming from the smaller conferences -- plus better-than-expected Novembers from teams such as Cal, Georgia Tech, Kansas and Penn State, and circumstances have paved the way for any of the power conferences to have a record number of bids.

Cal is now a #8 seed in Charlie Creme's Bracketology released today (12/10).

Stanford a #9 seed.

Note: Charlie Creme now has Pacific as a #16 seed (with a play-in game).

Way too early but note that this bracket (hosted by UCLA) has 3 former Pac12 teams !

Adding Pacific means that he expects them to win the WCC and to be their automatic qualifier. Will be amazing if Oregon State and Washington State cannot now even win the WCC.

Would potentially play USC in the second round.

He is essentially now predicting that we will finish fifth in the ACC, behind only Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina State and Georgia Tech.

And two of those four - NC State and Georgia Tech - come to Berkeley. Likewise, #7 UNC.

I know I'm getting ahead of things here, but if this team continues to surge the most significant goal would be to finish at least as a 4 seed in a region, which would lead to games being played at Haas in the NCAA tourney.

^ agreed, teams with a seeding of 5 or higher are then placed in a regional against a top 4 seeding or better host team with a hostile homecourt advantage which makes the odds of serving 2 games very problematic

get a 4 seed & then all the metrics change with home games at haas pavillion, this team got top 16 in the national upside if michelle can stay on the floor without fouling out & the turnovers minimized thru better passing decisions

And if we host NCAA Tournament games we'll draw lots of fans who may like what they see and come back next season.
