I think that Cal will be ranked 18 in the next poll. Very impressive, and yes a long way to go.

She rebounded well and had a couple steals but she was 2-7 from the floor and 2-4 from the line.

Cal just runs better when she's on the court. Bears let foot off gas a bit in the 4th….meanwhile anyone see that SMU led Pitt by 31 at half, scored zero points in the 3rd and lost 72-59! Yikes.

I'm proud of these Bears. Hopefully folks will make it to Stanford for that game. Go Bears!

Nice to see so many fans at Haas today. Portends even bigger crowds for our last six home games as students will be back in town.
I'm glad we're good enough that we can fuss about not beating a really good team by enough points. How far we've come.

I thought there migh be ore than 2343. Te end zones had quite a few fans. Our section was full and the section across from us was pretty full.

Fun game.

While the margin of victory is less than maybe what it ought to have been, hopefully another learning point. Cal took their foot off the gas and it's natural after having a 30+ point lead. It's a dangerous attitude to have given everyone shoots the 3 and we saw what happened in the Pitt/SMU game. An anomaly? Yes, but it proves if you allow it, you can pay the price.

To hold the NCAA's leading scorer to 3 made FGs and 14 points below her average is great. Bonner had a nice coming-home game and I'd much rather her take all the FGAs than Latson.

The grit shown by Ackerman, Abigor, and Noble was noticed.

Stat of this week (to me): between them, only 3 TOs over the last two games for Marta/Michelle. Marta is very crafty around the basket and Krimili had a couple of nice reverse layups. Kayla ran the team very well.

Interesting stat I see in the box score is Cal had 18 assists on 32 FGs while FSU had 5 assists on 24 FGs.

Schedule gets tough...we shall see how they handle themselves on the road.

The first 25:10 of the game 67-33 Bears, the last 14:50 was 37-15 FSU. That 25:10 was just awesome, its clear that Eliza Pierre has brought her defense from our final 4 team over to this team now. We played great on offense too during that time. I can't remember any Cal team with such amazing outside shooters. Very good high-energy crowd there (some 2,300), too bad the band wasn't there, that would have made it really loud. Anyway 16-2 now- pinch me I think I'm dreaming!

Marisa continues posting a lot about Cal WBB on Blue Sky. As I've noted before, the team needs to be on Blue Sky as well; it's a rapidly growing presence in social media.

FSU seemed to rely on driving to the basket for a layup or foul. Our men's team does a lot of that and it doesn't produce many assists. I think most of the FSU assists came on passes for uncontested threes, of which they made just 5.

FYI- 5 of the 6 teams ahead of us in the AP poll lost this week.
