Stanford upsets VA Tech in OT 75-74

Va Tech couldn't take care of the ball. Multiple turnovers on their last possessions. Let's hope for a repeat Sunday.

Soph PG, Chloe Clardy, exploded for 40% of Stanford's offense tonight. She scored 30 of Stanford's 75 points in their overtime upset.

wow. nearly 5500 were at the Cal Virginia game - polar vortex and all - and Virginia not exactly being a winning team this year. Although, there isn't a whole heck of a lot around Charlottesville other than Mr. Jefferson's University.

Cal has qualified for a first round bye (top 9 teams get either 1 or 2 byes). If they finish #8 or #9, and win the 8-9 game, the reward is the #1 team, currently Notre Dame. Cal is currently in 7th.

Va Tech really gave that one up tonight...bitter loss for them.

So how do they come out against Cal? Determined? Probably.

Cal needs to squash them early and often to hopefully demoralize them.

While I wish for that, somehow, some way it will be a grind until the end. I just hope the OT game tonight equals out any fatigue factor.

^ shocky sat in the 1st row behind the cal bench next to coach martin's wife roberta back in the day, the arena in charlottesville is like a giamormous nba arena & ten thousand seats that are not viewable on tv

3 point shooting can sometimes be challenging for collegiate players that are not accustomed to an endless backdrop (not like cal or stanford) so it's a great sign the bears heated up from the perimeter at this arena as the acc tournament will be staged in a similar kinda venue

Moving forward obviously we want to run the table for two reasons. NCAA seeding and even ACC tournament seeding. Don't want to settle for 8/9 in league because that means facing Notre Dame if we win. Gotta get past that in order to pile on more wins via ACC tourney.

One game a time. I think 25-6 gets us a 6 or 7 seed regardless of what we do in the ACC tournament.

Maybe, maybe not. By the time the selection committee makes it's seedings, even the conference tournament games are taken into consideration, so every win is important.
