Can someone be cool enough to post a roster update for the 25/26 season? I know Marta, Kam, Zahra in portal. Is Claudia officially gone as well? An update with current players and open spots would be much appreciated.
Nice link. Obviously right now we need some 4's and 5's.xxnatedoggxx said:

Good point. If she's healthy and wants to play she would be a big help at a position of need.annarborbear said:
Ackerman has played three full years plus the Covid year, and also had an injury redshirt year in 2021-22. I am wondering if she has one year of eligibility left if she wants to use it.
It used to be 15 but the House settlement could change that.RedlessWardrobe said:
Thanks so much stu. Again forgive me, with ten right now does that leaves us 3 openings(13) or 5(15)? Can't remember if it's the same as the men.
As I posted in another thread, they are close on a very good (big) player, but needed more dollars(my source helped out for a pretty good amount)....she hasn't committed yet, so hopefully that still might happen....RedlessWardrobe said:Nice link. It makes me ill this is what college basketball has become.mbBear said:As I posted in another thread, they are close on a very good (big) player, but needed more dollars(my source helped out for a pretty good amount)....she hasn't committed yet, so hopefully that still might happen....RedlessWardrobe said:Nice link. yes, I don't believe it will sustain, but that's also wishful thinking...CalFanatic said:It makes me ill this is what college basketball has become.mbBear said:As I posted in another thread, they are close on a very good (big) player, but needed more dollars(my source helped out for a pretty good amount)....she hasn't committed yet, so hopefully that still might happen....RedlessWardrobe said:Nice link. Burn the whole thing down.
Actually, it's nine. Sofia Bowes was a preferred walk-on last season. They might choose to give her a scholarship this next season.RedlessWardrobe said:

Wow, that's amazing. Unfortunately things are never going to go back to that.annarborbear said:
Was just looking back at our 2013 Final Four team. All of our top 8 players stayed for four years at Cal and all received their Cal degrees. I remember seeing Layshia studying with a friend on a Friday night at Starbucks. I think we referred to them as student-athletes way back then.
And as it does become just another form of entertainment, rather than a shared life experience, there will be lots of other entertainment options out there that it will have to compete against.RedlessWardrobe said:Wow, that's amazing. I think the conflict that most of us have, is that the student-athlete aspect was something we all felt good about, but even with that almost completely gone, we still like following the Cal women's basketball team. We just don't want to give it up. And there's nothing wrong with us wanting to still be fans even though we preferred it the old way. It is what it is now, and there's nothing we can do as fans to change it.
Texas and TCU are other teams getting a lot of 6'2" or taller players.annarborbear said:
Virginia must have come up with a new major.NIL donor for women's basketball. They have signed four frontline players 6'2" or taller, all of whom look very good, and one, Caitlyn Weimar, who is exceptional.

Serena Williams' husband, Alex Ohanian, is an alum of UVA. He is donating $776,000 a year for the next 4 years to the women's basketball program.

I read somewhere yesterday that Jeff Walz said a player he thought was coming to Louisville changed her mind, and signed with another program, He knows the coach of the team and called him to see what they offered her. It was $300,000!! The coach replied they really needed someone at that position.
I am all for a player getting more benefits from their scholarship, however, money now rules. I am losing interest in D1 basketball. The list of WBB players in the Portal is mind-blowing!
The state of affairs with football and men's basketball is concerning. As far as women's basketball, I'm beginning to think that Charmin just doesn't have the NIL money to compete effectively. Stay tough Charmin. I'm with you.xxnatedoggxx said:
With all the luck we have with every cal team. I won't be surprised if Lulu Twidale hits the transfer portal.
I follow Charmin on Instagram. She hasn't posted anything in nearly 2 weeks which leads me to believe that she is hard at work putting together a transfer portal group equal to or better than she got last season. A 25-9 season record, and NCAA bid speak volumes!WC Bear said:The state of affairs with football and men's basketball is concerning. AFAIK nobody is paying fans.Woodacre said:
If that happens…Lulu in the portal…I might put myself in the portal as a fan and see what I could get for switching my allegiance…I mean, why can't fan bases go to the highest bidder too?
