Can someone be cool enough to post a roster update for the 25/26 season? I know Marta, Kam, Zahra in portal. Is Claudia officially gone as well? An update with current players and open spots would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much stu. Again forgive me, with ten right now does that leaves us 3 openings(13) or 5(15)? Can't remember if it's the same as the men.

Ackerman has played three full years plus the Covid year, and also had an injury redshirt year in 2021-22. I am wondering if she has one year of eligibility left if she wants to use it.

Nice link. Obviously right now we need some 4's and 5's.

Speaking of Natalia Ackerman, she has now entered the transfer portal.

Good point. If she's healthy and wants to play she would be a big help at a position of need.

Just read the above. Oh well.

It used to be 15 but the House settlement could change that.

As I posted in another thread, they are close on a very good (big) player, but needed more dollars(my source helped out for a pretty good amount)....she hasn't committed yet, so hopefully that still might happen....

I helped out with a modest amount.

It makes me ill this is what college basketball has become.

yes, I don't believe it will sustain, but that's also wishful thinking...

Actually, it's nine. Sofia Bowes was a preferred walk-on last season. They might choose to give her a scholarship this next season.

Six scholarship openings or 40% of the 2025-2026 roster.

Was just looking back at our 2013 Final Four team. All of our top 8 players stayed for four years at Cal and all received their Cal degrees. I remember seeing Layshia studying with a friend on a Friday night at Starbucks. I think we referred to them as student-athletes way back then.

Wow, that's amazing. Unfortunately things are never going to go back to that.
I think the conflict that most of us have, is that the student-athlete aspect was something we all felt good about, but even with that almost completely gone, we still like following the Cal women's basketball team. We just don't want to give it up. And there's nothing wrong with us wanting to still be fans even though we preferred it the old way. It is what it is now, and there's nothing we can do as fans to change it.

And as it does become just another form of entertainment, rather than a shared life experience, there will be lots of other entertainment options out there that it will have to compete against.

Virginia must have come up with a new major.NIL donor for women's basketball. They have signed four frontline players 6'2" or taller, all of whom look very good, and one, Caitlyn Weimar, who is exceptional.

It's possible the House settlement may change the financial landscape to our advantage (or less to our disadvantage). Perhaps some of our targets are waiting to see how that develops.

Texas and TCU are other teams getting a lot of 6'2" or taller players.

Serena Williams' husband, Alex Ohanian, is an alum of UVA. He is donating $776,000 a year for the next 4 years to the women's basketball program.

I read somewhere yesterday that Jeff Walz said a player he thought was coming to Louisville changed her mind, and signed with another program, He knows the coach of the team and called him to see what they offered her. It was $300,000!! The coach replied they really needed someone at that position.

I am all for a player getting more benefits from their scholarship, however, money now rules. I am losing interest in D1 basketball. The list of WBB players in the Portal is mind-blowing!

With all the luck we have with every cal team. I won't be surprised if Lulu Twidale hits the transfer portal.

I had given a little hope that Shareef's sister, Amirah Abdur-Rahim, might finally make it to Berkeley. But the 6'3" forward is now off to her fourth school in five years - Houston - after playing previously at Notre Dame, SMU and Texas A&M.

The state of affairs with football and men's basketball is concerning. As far as women's basketball, I'm beginning to think that Charmin just doesn't have the NIL money to compete effectively. Stay tough Charmin. I'm with you.

I follow Charmin on Instagram. She hasn't posted anything in nearly 2 weeks which leads me to believe that she is hard at work putting together a transfer portal group equal to or better than she got last season. A 25-9 season record, and NCAA bid speak volumes!

Plus, she now has the new general manager, Meghin Williams, helping her.

Go Charmin!!

If that happens…Lulu in the portal…I might put myself in the portal as a fan and see what I could get for switching my allegiance…I mean, why can't fan bases go to the highest bidder too?

AFAIK nobody is paying fans.

Then it's time to start a movement! Or at least we can sue for whiplash, with all the movement. Speaking of which, the entire Baylor men's team either graduated or entered the Portal??? https://www.outkick.com/sports/baylor-mens-basketball-team-has-no-players-left
