1. We have a new amle cheerleader/dance team member. For those who attend the games, last two years had a wonderful male dancer. He graduated. But we have a new member now. and he looks pretty good. What does everyone else think?

2. Naya had a blue wrap around her right nee. And she didn't really sprint down the court. I think this is why she had limited minutes.

3. Charmin said n her post game that Mjarcle would be back for Idaho. She sat in her warmups the entire second half. Earlier in the season she had an owie, and she didn't play the entire first half. Wonder if this is the same injury.

4. Lola. a. She is now taking warm up shots from the top of the key. Although not as accurate as from the corners.
b. According to the stats she had 3 rebounds. But that seems low. Seems like she was coming from the weak side all nigh and grabbing them.

5. Nice to see Grace play. At the open practice, Charmin told me she might be the backup point guard. She looked good today.

6. Said the crowd was a little over 1,000. But it seemed bigger to me.

7. Music still too loud. and we didn't have an usher till the 4th quarter. I had to chase people out of the season ticket holders seats all night.

8. Next week is Teddy Bear toss. I vote they should play Teddy Bear Picnic song. How many agree?

I'm very impressed by Grace as well. She's going to be a star like Lulu by her sophomore or junior seasons.

Crowd seemed bigger to me too.

The teddy bear toss is during the Idaho game!

From a basketball standpoint I drew a few conclusions, although I admit yesterday's game was probably not the right game for drawing conclusions.

I realize that I've only seen Puff play a handful of games, but sometimes it appears to me that on the offensive end she would be much better if she simplified her game. Teams seem to be sagging off of her on the perimeter. If they're giving her room to shoot the three she needs to go ahead and shoot it - unless she feels she's not consistent enough to let it fly. I'd be really curious to know what her 3 point shooting percentage was in high school (Anybody have that info?) I know she's at a higher competition level, but if she has space a 3 pointer is still a 3 pointer.

And to re-visit another subject, so often on ball screens Lulu is being given free looks for a 10 foot pull up. She does convert at times off of screens by driving to the basket but that doesn't mean that opening is always there. Also there have been a few occasions when she comes off the screen and tries to feed the screener, (usually Sakima), but sometimes the spacing isn't there and it results in a turnover. Again, I really hope she tries to add a short pull up shot to her arsenal.

Finally, as I have mentioned I would be interested to know the bottom line on Naya's health. She is definitely an asset on the court, hope that as the season moves forward she will be able to give us more minutes. You would have to think that Charmin is limiting her to due to health issues based on the way she's been playing.

re: Puff HS 3pt% - her school didn't input stats into MaxPreps.

more than half of her shots are from 3 this year 33%. and 35% from the line(!!!)

If Smith isn't telling her, maybe Clarendon can tell her how successful that pull-up shot can be ...

I have no background to judge dancers but I really appreciate the contributions of everyone in our spirit groups.
