Bishop McNamara of Maryland upset Archbishop Mitty, 53-50, in the semi-finals last night. Bullis of Maryland also pulled off a major shocker by knocking off Long Island Lutheran, 76-68, in the other semi. Now the two teams that were ranked #1 nationally in various polls will face each other on Monday in the third-place consolation game.

The Monarchs still do not have their best player, 6-2 PF McKenna Woliczko, performing. She is projected to return to action sometime in January, after suffering a season-ending ACL injury last season.

It turned out that Bullis did not upset Long Island Lutheran. Bishop McNamara upset Long Island Lutheran tonight by 3 points for the championship. Bishop McNamara also defeated Archbishop Mitty in the semi-final by three points. They beat San Ramon Valley by 11 points in the quarterfinals.

Mitty (9-1) captured the 3rd place game by dumping Bullis, 58-46, tonight. San Ramon Valley took 5th place by defeating Milleneum (AZ).

Since it is the top high school program in the Bay Area, I always enjoy information on how they are doing. In regard to recruiting, the real question is why don't their players want to come here? Same with Oakland Tech. Their best player, a post we really could have used, is going all the way to Vanderbilt.
