Last night the straw hat band was pretty big but not quite as big as the Stanford game. Only a three Tuba night except after they sat for awhile, i noticed there were four tubas. but thirty minutes later there were 3 tubas again.

We are getting better. We need three point shooting and we are getting it. Biggest improvement is Gisella Maul.
Last year she was still recovering from a leg problem and was not fast. but she seems to have recovered this year and is moving pretty good on those wheels. But the biggest improvement is her three point shooting. Last year she shot 23.1 % from 3 point land. this year it is 38.7 %. Before the start oof the second half, she came out and was shooting threes. She moved around the arc and was hitting everything. She made 15 out of 16 threes.

I say WOW! But in the past, one thing that Charmonm's players do improve on is their three point shooting. Lelani went form the 20's to 40%. Lola went from 1 for 18 to 30 plus this year. Lulu shot 28.5% her first year and 38.2 % her second. I'm not saying Charmin was a good outside shooter herself, but she seems to know people who can teach you to shoot the three.

We are improving defensively. Our opposition 3 point shooting is better this year. Our shortest starter this year is Lulu and she is 5'10". Taylor is 6'tall. And we have more speed this year as Mjarcle is pretty fast. Sakima has a wide wing span and can block shots without jumping much.

We need Taylor for Louisville, and still might lose with her. But before these three games, if someone had said I hope we can win 2 out of three, most would have taken that.

How many people are going to the game on Sunday. i will be there.

Little known fact. Annharborbear once played the French horn, even though he is of Finnish background. America, it's a melting pot.

G is a rock. Her 3 point shooting surprised me but coming into this year I thought she would be a key player as she looked healthy playing overseas. I still don't think she is 100%

But it's not just her shooting/scoring. It's her defense where she can defend 4,positions and leads the team in rebounds at 6.6/game. She also plays smart with poise and has the lowest turnover rate of the team.

One more thing. I doubt that Mjaricle played point guard at LSU, but she has done an adequate job here. One thing is she can guard the opposing point guard no matter how quick.

I was watching that elementary school or Bay Area elite team ? during half time. The center, who was twice the height of the smallest player, seems very good…Cal should keep an eye on her?

The kids program is called Align, located in Hercules. To my eye those kids looked really good in skills and teamwork.

Yes, Gisella rebounds and, as I keep saying, I do love a rebounder. We are lucky to have The Mauler.

In conference games, where Gisella has been averaging more minutes and the stakes are higher, she's pulling down 8.4 rebounds per game. Taylor is second with 5.8.

In her time as HC Charmin has always had a PG who is tough, smart, and quick: Leilani McIntosh, Kayla Williams and Mjracle Sheppard.

Iirc I think she came off the bench as their defensive stopper and had limited offensive stats.

Hopefully, this is her 3rd and final college stop
