Stanford was blowing Arizona out of their own gymnasium by 30 points at the beginning of the 2nd half when I watched for 15-20 minutes. Stanford had the senior Aussie post, Alanna Smith, and soph PG, Kianna Williams, as stars entering this season. Now junior Dijonai Carrington has emerged as a third star to make 'em hard to stop.
Their two post players, soph Maya Dodson and junior Fingall, have been out recently, so its amazing how good the Cardinal could be when the former returns to action...
Thinking of Stanford with its top ranked 2019 recruit class (5 blue chip players) and the addition of the #2 player nationally in a 6-4 post in 2020, I see ZERO reason why they won't retake control of the Pac 12 and give UConn a run for the national title.
I might have to become a Stanford fan next season, too, to follow the progress of CCS stars, Haley Jones and Hannah Jump, careers at the next level! I've had a blast following Mitty and Pinewood in girls high school bball action for the past four seasons.
Can you imagine a future lineup of Maya Dodson at center, Haley Jones and Dijonai Carrington at forwards, and guards Kianna Williams and Hannah Jump? Cal needs to dismiss Gottlieb and begin to rebuild from the ground level up with a coach that doesn't try to befriend her players but actually attempts to improve their skills with love and DISCIPLINE! Cal needs to learn to dictate to the opponent and takes "things" away from them. The Bears will not be able to stay within 30-40 points of the Cardinal beginning in 2019-2020.
Cal fans-enjoy this *disappointing* season because it will be the best for quite a while. The future appears bleak [= cellar dwellers of the P12]. GO BEARS!
