Both ESPN and RealtimeRPI have us as 8 seeds right now:
http://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracketology
http://www.realtimerpi.com/bracketology/bracketology_Women.html

If we lose to Stanford, a 7 seed looks tough because the teams ahead of us are doing well.
If we beat them, we may have a good shot at a 7 seed.
Probably need to make the final to have a shot at a 6 seed.
Simply playing Stanford (and Oregon State and Oregon) is an RPI boost because of their records. Winning would be a much bigger boost, plus a quality win.

Teams equal to or ahead of us on at least one of those bracketology pages:
Arizona St., 6 & 5 (beats #171 Colorado, loses to #34 UCLA)
Kentucky, 6 & 6 (loses to #31 Missouri)
Florida St., 6 & 6 (beats #73 Duke, next 5:00 vs. #7 NC State)
Missouri, 5 & 7 (beats #210 Florida, beats #20 Kentucky)
DePaul, 7 & 6
South Dakota, 7 & 7
Texas, 7 & 7
Rutgers, 8 & 6 (5:55 vs. #87 Purdue)
Drake, 6 & 8 (Wins home game vs. #161 Illinois St., next hosts #158 Bradley on Saturday)
UCLA, 8 & 7 (beats #21 Arizona St.)
Michigan, 8 & 8 (beats #187 Wisconsin)
California 8 & 8 (beats #150 Washington St., next 6:00 vs. #4 Stanford)
Central Michigan, 7 & 9
South Dakota St., 6 & 10
Kansas St. 10 & 7
North Carolina, 9 & 8 (beats #54 Georgia Tech, loses to #1 Notre Dame)
(To rank, I average, then give more weight to the realtimerpi bracket because I think it's more accurate.)

USC is getting crushed by 32 in the 4th against Arizona.
25% shooting vs. 60% ends their shot at the NCAA tournament.

USC, Arizona and Utah should be invited to the NIT.

I think you need to watch Arizona's next game. They may be in the Big Dance.

They're certainly good enough. Can't see them getting past the next three games, though and RPI 91 going into the conference tournament with only 1 quadrant 1 win is just too much to overcome.

USC was on the bubble, but Arizona's schedule and heartbreaking losses rule them out.

I doubt a line is available, but a bet on Arizona and/or Utah to win the Women's NIT might be a good one.

That is the most balanced scoring we have seen from Arizona. When they load up next year with some international players, they are going to be tough. They will probably actually benefit this year by getting some additional games and gaining further confidence playing in the WNIT.

The Pac-12's two theoretical bubble teams had terrible shooting nights and got bounced early.

Utah goes 5-25 from 3 (20%), 34% overall, and loses 64-54 to Washington.
USC goes 4-18 from 3 (22.2%), 25.8% overall and gets blown out by Arizona, 76-48.

Pressure can be everything if the players let it get to them.

No excuses. But 7 players. Everybody but ASU plays 7. It's good to know you have more players to put in plus you need more than 7 to have real practices.

Women's teams often practice against male club level players, but yes... Utah had some terrible luck with injuries this season, and just terrible luck overall in some close games. They deserved better.

Realtime has Stanford as 1 seed and Cal (8) facing off against BYU (9) and then going on to face ND if Cal wins.

Only thing that could help if they view Cal as plausable 7 is projected #4 mock draft Anigwe playing instead playing in an 8/9 game WITH Cal having played Stanford to being down by 1 halfway through the 4th on the second day of Cal play and then Stanford taking down Oregon. Also, BYU's win to beat Gonzaga 3 times with Cal beating BYU, though very early. If Cal hadn't played the day before, game with Stanford would have come down to last minute. Will see! Go Bears!

An 8 or 9 seed look most likely for Cal, the way things shook out down the stretch.

There's no guarantee we'll get past our first round game, but it's hard not to look ahead to a potential second round matchup.

Sonny Moore Rankings
1 NOTRE DAME 95.72
2 BAYLOR 95.45
3 MISSISSIPPI ST. 93.43
4 CONNECTICUT 93.08
5 OREGON 90.89
6 MARQUETTE 86.99
7 LOUISVILLE 86.47
8 STANFORD 86.27
37 CALIFORNIA 74.76
http://sonnymoorepowerratings.com/w-basket.htm

There's a really big drop-off between the top 4 and the next group.
If we get an 8, there's a chance we get put in Louisville's group. Notre Dame beat them by 20 in the ACC tournament final, and we know the ACC RPIs are badly inflated relative to other computer rankings.

ESPN 1-seeds:
Baylor
Notre Dame
UConn
Mississippi St.

RealtimeRPI 1-seeds:
Notre Dame
Baylor
Louisville
Stanford

Massey, on the other hand, gives Cal more love (they also rate the Pac-12 conference the strongest in WBB)::

I wish the NCAA itself did, but Cal is still hovering around #40, according to their current rankings:
