i don't watch much WBB except cal games, but I watched second half os Stanford v Oregon
Stanford WBB is their only team I root for because I think they have a great and classy coach

I was surprised when ducks beat Stanford in Palo Alto by 40. Didn't think that was even possible.

But very tough to win a re-match against a Tara coached team.

Game looked like two heavy weight boxers as it was close with each team's stars making big plays.

I really like stanford's Carrington (and Smith)

Sabrina really runs offense well as she probes and probes the defense and is in perpetual motion. Her constant cutting without the ball just makes it difficult to keep track of her

With the ball her change of spreed, coupled with her excellent passing and ability to score makes her a constant threat with the ball. They do a ton of pick and roll, and she is a master at getting the ball to their bigs with a sideways bounce pass. Actually, Sabrina uses lots of bounce passes

When she doesn't have the ball Oregon is average. Guess their coach knows this as they said she has played every minute in the tournament including today.

Both teams run a beautiful offense, with constant motion, cutting and screening. They have an array of motions and sets that they run. Very complex offense that I'm sure they've built over time. Easier to do with WBB as players tend to stay 4 years with fewer transfers. Still a lot of it is great coaches, who have players recruited for their systems, who buy into the discipline needed, and accepting their roles

It's so important to have a strong motor. Sabrina led her team with 12 rebounds, you sure can't do that standing around. I wonder what fraction of that is due to training, what fraction is due to genetics, and what fraction is due to attitude? Certainly something to look for in recruiting.

I think you meant to say our conference just sucks? It is amazing to think that one player could win the regular season alone playing with average players. Imagine if they had just recruited even one more player that was above average? I don't give her (SI) all the credit or even 20% of it The only thing I know about her is she takes those very "average" players (in your words) like Hebard, Sabally, Cazorla, and Boley and makes them better.

Just think if she was playing for Colorado. Colorado would be playing Stanford tonight by your logic. That is just plain silly.

Furdies won. Tara has a strange team this year, that can look either awful or great, often both in the same game.

s/b interesting to see Pac 12 seedings in the NCAAs after all this. Unlike the guys, Pac women were good and deep.

Wow. Quite a leap you're making from my post to suggest that I think the Pac-12 sucks???

My point about the ducks looking average without Sabrina was that she makes that team go, and when she doesn't have the ball they are a different team.

I think their coach agrees

But you're certainly entitled to disagree with me
