I heard last night during the Connecticut Sun vs. LA sparks game that Layshia Clarendon is cleared to play after a 3 month recovery from ankle surgery. The Sun didn't need her to play and swept the Sparks 3-0 to advance to the finals. Layshia will get more time to acclimate back into the team flow since the Las Vegas Aces took a game from the Washington Mystics, who still lead the series 2-1. I am really hoping to see Layshia on the court in the finals to help her team to its first championship.

I, too, hope Layshia gets a crack at leading the Sun to the WNBA title. She has overcome considerable adversity to find herself in this position, and I'm confident she'll acquit herself admirably if given the chance to compete. Clarenden was a clutch player on the Bears' Final Four team and she'll, undoubtedly, be a key contributor to the Sun's pursuit of the title. Go Layshia!

Will Layshia be able to return to team USA......I hope so. Team USA is going around the country playing the top college teams. They will be at Stanford. I want to go to the game. I think tickets are available starting on Oct. 15th. Diana Turasi was instrumental in arranging the Team USA tour. The WNBA playoff games were so exciting! Women Professional Basketball Players are terrific athletes. Will we get a team in San Francisco.....there was some talk of this being a possibilty.......

Thank you......Dawn Staley said it was very difficult to choose 12 players after tryouts for Team USA. The competition was strong. What an accomplishment and honor for Layshia. She did not suit up for the WNBA playoffs, but was cheering her team on from the sidelines.
