Cal remained #1 in water polo, even after their loss to furd Sunday night. Furd and UCLA are tied for #2 in today's poll.

As important is that fact they finished atop the MPSF standings and will be the #1 seed with the #4 being a Trojan squad that is clearly weakened by having a couple of their best players in Europe training with the national team. Beat 'SC for a fourth straight time and get the UCLA - Stanford winner for the right to go to the NCAAs.

My guess is that the Bears could get the at large even if they don't beat the Trojans because of their performance to date, but would hate for them to leave it to whomever selects...assuming there's a NCAA championship at all with so few teams playing this spring.
