Smoot opted to play beach but has not seen any match action minus on the exhibition pair vs UCLA yesterday. It's possible that she may get a chance to play on pair 5, but that only may happen if someone on the main pairs gets injured or coach Olson decides to do a shake up. An OSU kill leads to a straight set loss for the bears (25-20 loss in set 3), which was the complete opposite of how things were last season when both teams last played each other. Grote led the match with 16 kills, Pantovic had 6 kills and 7 digs, and Taumoepeau had 5 kills. Not having Mirkovic hurts, but losing Potter to an injury that prevents her from setting hurts even more. Bear in mind that OSU was playing without their star outside Maddie Goings, which could've played in the bears' favor had Bellizzi and Potter not gotten hurt
