Well this is why I'm not a coach lol

Though Li and Lauzon should bounce back today.

Go Bears!

Order: Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor
So, Cal will trail at the start.
So, will Frazier anchor the floor - which might decide the Bears' fate?

Florida and Cal seem to be best. Both should advance. Fingers crossed. GO BEARS!

I think they should be shooting for the top spot and for that 198. Be bold! If that means Mya Lauzon in all around so be it. But then again, Perea and Cesario had good last meet.
Any idea if Trinity Thomas of Florida will be able to compete? I know she had to be pulled from her last event due to a possible leg injury. This could be a difference maker if her is out.

Not a great vault rotation but also not too shabby. Might be in fourth by the time everyone wraps up first rotation. But at least they will be done with vault.

No Trinity Thomas. But Florida looked great in bars so far

Bears on Bars! Great rotation.

Michigan State looks strong today. This is gonna be a dogfight for #2. Yikes Cal will have to hit on beam and floor.

Cal did improve its vault score from Friday.
But ASU just outvaulted Cal. 49.450 to Cal's 49.275

Cal also improved its bars score from Friday, slightly. 49.525 to 49.500
Florida scored 49.575 on bars.

ASU scores 49.300 on floor.
Florida with a 49.600 on beam to go with their 49.575 on bars. They are going to be tough to catch.
MSU with 49.425 on beam and 49.475 on floor.

So: aftre two rotations:

1 Florida 99.175
2 Michigan State 98.900
3 California 98.800
4 Arizona State98.750

It's a battle for second. I'm guessing Cal is going to need 49.500 at least on beam and floor to offset the vault score. They had those totals on Friday so.....

The stats site (which is all I can see) is wonky. But, the liveblog sounds like Cal was hitting the beam hard and Florida had some oops on the floor. I can't see the totals for the individual rotation.

So, it may be after 3 (I think all scores are in - prior version was early):
1
Florida
148.500
2
California
148.450
3
Arizona State
148.250
4
Michigan State
148.125

And she does. The scores are slow. But Cal should have a shot at #1 with one routine to go

Live blog is positive on Lauzon's performance. But what was the score?

Emjae Frazier's personal performance peaked at the right time. She was the best today. I still don't know whether Cal can compete for a top three finish with such weak vault scores. I think that Bears might have to use Lauzon in AA if they want to take the next step up the ladder. Maddie Williams is the 3rd best scorer consistently. Andy Li has really plateaued around 9.90 range. Entering the season, she was supposed to be Cal's top gymnast. Gabby Perea has really stepped up as the top specialist.

Please post the scores of the two winners of each of the other three regionals when they're available. Then we can see where Cal stands in the overall pecking order. GO BEARS!
