Wow, major missed opportunity with the bases loaded there, hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Love that Lomavita willing to take the bunt, why not surprise them with a squeeze play after that?
Yes, last night's hero, Peyton Schulze, hit into an inning ending double play. He's forgiven.
Can't bunt Green and Schulze, have to let them swing. They can make it 6-0 with one swing. Plus, Schulze blistered that ball but USC shortstop made a fantastic play.
Well that was my point, Lomavita has just as many home runs (14) as Green (14) and Schulze (10), if you're going to play small ball just go all the way. That extra run or two that we could have squeezed would have helped a lot now that we're down 1.
I also wonder about taking out May after 60 pitches, is that a normal pitch count for a starter in college? Next guy gives up the gopher ball, so it does not come off as a great move by Neu.

Got to root for Arizona to win tonight and tomorrow otherwise a bid will be stolen and I doubt the committee will take 5 PAC-12 teams (AZ, OSU, Oregon, Furd/$C, Cal)
So if USC loses tomorrow to AZ, and the 4th Pac-12 spot is between USC and Cal, do they just look at today's game and give the spot to USC? I hope not.

Highly doubtful. Cal has better wins and a much better record at 36-19 vs. 31-27. If SC doesn't win the tourney, 100% they're going home with that record.barsad said:
