Alex Shackell's 2nd place finish in the 200 fly secures her spot on the Olympic roster after finishing 6th in the 200 free.

Alexy will look to add to his schedule with 50 free finals and Stadden will look to make the team in the 200 back tonight. Dare Rose had an easy swim this morning in the 100 fly prelims and is aiming for a spot in finals tomorrow.

Alexy ends up fourth in the 50 tonight. His best time would have gotten him second (and on the team) in the final, but representing the US in the 100 individually and on relay duty is no sneeze.

Come on Stadden and Rose!

Stadden finishes 7th in the 200 back final, with 2025 commit Teagan O'Dell right behind her in 8th. Rose qualifies 2nd for the 100 fly final to potentially make his first Olympic team tomorrow night.

A Junior Pan Pacs roster update for our 2025 commits:

Teagan O'Dell has safely qualified in both backstroke events, and Andrew Shackell will swim on the USA 800 free relay. Pending the decisions of the women's 50 free tomorrow, Elle Scott might receive an invite from her 200 IM swim today

I think the commentators said 1,000 swimmers qualified for the Swim Trials, for only 52 spots.

Regarding Bears' 2025 recruits, besides the Shackell siblings, there's also the Erisman siblings. Ryan Erisman will join the Bears in 2025. His sister, Rylee Erisman is only 15 years old, yet she made 3 semi-finals at US trials and is an alternate for the final - Finishing 10th in 100 Free and 14th in 100 Back. She'll race 50 semi tonight. I hope she will come to Cal also.

Nothing official has been released. In the past couple of years, most of the key swimmers with 5th year options have stayed in the program, with the notable exception of Ryan Hoffer.
I don't know how the heartbreaking near misses by Destin and Dare will effect their decisions, but I am hopeful that they will return.
