This coach accomplished amazing things while coaching the weight events at Cal. Several Bears-both men and women-earned All-American honors under him. He will be missed. Where's Mo Saatara headed?

Going to Texas.

I listened to his latest interview on the "tell the whole damn world" podcast and I could tell that he sounded like
Someone who would be looking to move onto a program with more resources into T&F. He mentioned that Cal's not a place where you have the best facilities and resources for T&F but you have to be ready to grind.

Not just All-American honors.
More like Olympic Gold Medals and World and Olympic Records.

Successful Cal Throws Coach Mo Saatara Leaving for Texas

Saatara said he will continue to coach Rogers and all of Cal's post-collegiate throwers.
Sounds like Floreal at Texas recruited him really hard.

They have to practice in Richmond for much of the year. Hard to believe he endured the lack of a facility for as long as he did.

No one is allowed to run during their throws practice except in lane 8.

Looks like he will be showcasing to his new fan base and will be in the discus competition in the prefontaine meet this weekend.
