There was no way Cal was going to match what Clemson offered in terms of money, facilities and fan support. But, Knowlton/J&J certainly made the Howells open to making a move - and the word had to be out that the Howells were open to making a move - and then the move was made.
Not sure what happened with Stack-Eaton and the gymnasts. On paper, it looked like a good fit. But, the Stack-Eaton leaves Minnesota and Minnesota goes to the Final Four on the Floor .... And they can't find a spot for Lauzon to stay? Meanwhile, the portal period is just starting for gymnastics so we will see...

Frankly, Ondine is still just a promise of greatness. Was her second injury due to the coaching staff? I don't know. But, internet suggests she thinks so. She may just never be healthy enough to make a difference in the NCAAs. Don't know what went down with Wiley and why? And we dont know the full story about why the vault was set improperly for Tonya. But all three are being used to suggest a coaching staff/gymnast disconnect.

Our roster seems to have a lot of four stars on it that haven't quite accomplished what their rating entails. Wiley was one of those. I disagree with S71 here. I think stack eaton has a plan, and if they cut Wiley Surely they had a legitimate reason.

I've given up Online. It's no fun waiting and waiting and waiting for a player to come back from an injury and then they decide to leave. This seems to happen a lot with Cal Athletics especially basketball. There's plenty of players in the portal we can assess, including a lot from Oregon State. SE. seems to be able to recruit they got the four-star flip and I think they will add some great gymnasts in the off season.
