The California softball team is set to play a five-game fall ball slate, announced Wednesday by head coach Steve Singleton.
The Golden Bears will begin play on Oct. 5 against Santa Clara at the Santa Clara Softball Stadium at noon. The following week, Cal will head to Saratoga to face off against West Valley College on Oct. 11, followed by a doubleheader against Sacramento State and Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 12. The Bears will close out the fall slate against the College of San Mateo on Oct. 25 at Viking Field.
Cal is coming off a 37-21 campaign in the spring of 2025, which led to its third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. The Bears advanced to the Norman Regional final before falling to No. 2 Oklahoma.
The new-look Bears will feature 15 newcomers, including five freshmen. Cal will also debut an entirely new coaching staff led by Singleton, a 2025 national title-winning coach, who is the program's ninth head coach.
