For the CalBears.com Softball page, we currently show a completely outdated coaching staff. One of our assistant coaches has already left and, go figure, she already has a full bio on her new college's website. We also have an outdated roster, a stats section that's completely wrong and doesn't even show names for some players (just numbers) and no announcement of our new assistant coach.

Oh also by the way, some players who are transferring apparently played for us last year! They have full stats!

Is this what the #1 public university in the world strives for? What exactly do our media teams or website administrators do? I've seen painfully obvious errors across multiple sports programs at Cal so this isn't a sport specific issue but... my god. I've seen better from JUCO sports websites!

Forget the forms, CalFanatic, and "talk" to the people in charge. Or they appear to be.

In the staff directory on Calbears.com, these three people are listed with the title of Assistant Director, Athletics Communications.

Emailed all three. I have little faith based on my previous experiences. I think only 2 of the 10 emails I've sent over the years have actually received a response to Cal Athletics.

I've even offered to help with my professional services for free to help the university, since apparently some people find their paid jobs too burdensome to actually complete LOL

I've contacted Cal several times suggesting they update various pages related to fund raising and the Oski village/Maxwell field after their changes

It took me a while to reach someone who helped but it was finally done

Of course Cal needs to do a better job keeping the site up to date, but each program should care enough to make sure of it and if something is wrong to contact the right person

Definitely! And the volleyball staff absolutely needs to take responsibility and have a sense of ownership. I just wonder…since every other team in the ACC has beautifully set-up bios, including club information, high school, and personal details… does that mean our volleyball staff is the most incompetent in the ACC? Surely, I don't think so. That means there's something else going on. It seems like departments aren't communicating properly, or channels aren't set up to receive this information in a timely manner.

A basic, repeatable project plan would solve this: What are the risks? What are the dependencies? Is there a system in place for staff or players to submit this info on time? These are basic project management questions.. not complicated fixes.

Anyways, I'm done. The points been made. I am looking forward to a much improved website with this new media re-org. I hope we see real results and not just words. The severe decline of this website over the last decade or so has been so disheartening to see. I'm trying to keep the faith
