As part of the " Shriners Children Showdown at the Net" which pits the ACC vs the SEC, Cal will be facing their toughest test of the young year, playing a SEC team on the road. South Carolina is currently 4-1. I don't think USC is one of SEC better teams ..so there is a chance.

It will be shown on the ESPN streaming service at 4:00 PM (PST). Let's go Bears!

You're right. This should be a good test for the Bears.

I think the team is gaining confidence and building chemistry since that tough loss to the Gaels. Particularly with the road sweep in Texas.

At one point they were trailing like 19-14 or 15 only to rally for the win. Good confidence builder .

Have to check the teams they beat. I know Mich not sure of the others. Cant believe they played that difficult of a schedule.

Dammit only game we loss to were to SMC who is #266!!!! ***.

On Wednesday September 16, Cal plays UC Davis in Davis.

UC Davis just upset #7 Arizona State in 4 sets on Thursday night in Tempe.

Opportunity knocks.

But, first things first. Bears need to beat San Diego State and Santa Clara this weekend in Santa Clara.

The CalBears "schedule" shows a Cal loss to SDSU but article describes Cal win. Looking at boxscore on the schedule result and going to play by play shows the play by play has teams reversed. So it is a Cal win

yes cal won the first 2 games then SDS won the next 2 and then Cal won the fifth set reaching 15 first but it was close ! I didnt realize you could watch it online until the 3rd game.

Saw that. I was so confused. I was swearing that they loss to sds then only after reading the article to find out they had actually won. So irresponsible!

As I've chronicled on this board, the errors on CalBears.com are horrendous. And this wasn't even the first "error" for the volleyball team this season. We had broken links to stats and recaps for either the third or fourth game of the year.

The level of incompetence from the media team is staggering, but I'm told the website will be getting a complete revamp. I don't care about a revamp. I care about the little things: complete bios, correct statistics, and working links!

We should not relax our standards. We should demand that the simple things a JUCO sports website can get right also apply to the No. 1 public institution in the world.
