The softball roster consists of only 18 players including 7 seniors. The one
unexpected player is a junior transfer from New Mexico State, Destiny Blueford.
Don't expect too much from her, however, she produced a .191 BA% as a part-time infielder.

I believe that Ninemire has seven verbal commits for the class of 2019. The Bears
will need to replace their two top starting pitchers, seniors Kamalani Dung and Zoe
Conley. They will also graduate their top all-around player, Lindsay Rood.

Bradie Fillmore, a top three hitter for the Bears, scheduled to return for her junior year, transferred
back to her home state of Idaho to play for Boise State.

Cal will only return two bonafide hitters, Lindsay Rood and Mickey Coelho. Karlee Sparacino will return at third base while the two catchers-Lauren Espalin & Marcella Kay-that split PT last season will also be back. Four newbies will certainly be given every opportunity to see major playing time if they can hit: OF Amani Bradley, LHP/UT Alex Perez, C Makena Smith & IF Morgan Zamora.

Good 2018 class. Even better 2019 class. What's the point, though? We don't develop players anymore. We will be out in regional play after winning one or maybe-if we are lucky-two games. We just don't hit.

We need new leadership in the program.
