I'm here at Pauley Pavilion at intermission with UCLA leading 2-0. Script has been the same for both sets thus far: slow start, Bruins build a substantial 5 point lead, our defense can't make enough stops, UCLA hits 24, we finally decide to start playing to our ability to make it "interesting", Bruins call timeout, come out of that timeout and put the set away.

Set 3 is why this team is worth rooting for. These ladies refused to lose. Had to challenge when it appeared UCLA had won 25-23, we regrouped and took the set 27-25.

Bears fell in 4. Fought hard but defensively, just wasn't enough to send it to a 5th set. Met Mima's boyfriend and Amir Lugo-Rodriguez's father in the stands so that was nice to talk to them during the match.

Well, Bears did better against UCLA than Stanfurd did - as Stanfurd didn't win a set.
Unfortunately, Stanford came from down two sets to win in five against USC - thus getting Stanfurd in first place and creating a logjam of teams with 7-3 conference records between Cal, UCLA , UW and WSU.
