Ivey Reaches The Top Of The PodiumFEDERAL WAY, Wash. After posting runner-up finishes in her first two individual races at the Pac-12 Championships, sophomore
Isabel Ivey at last reached the top of a podium with victory in the 100-yard backstroke Friday to highlight Cal's night at the conference meet.
Ivey, who took second in the 200 individual medley Thursday, began her Friday with a second-place showing in the 100 butterfly after swimming a season-best 51.14. A short time later, she got back in the water for the 100 back and found herself locked in a close duel with teammate

"It was a little hard," Ivey said of her double on the Pac-12 Network telecast. "I'm not sure I'm going to do it at NCAAs, but it was a good race. No way the perfect race, there's a lot of things I need to clear up for NCAAs, but I'm pretty happy with it. "
