Hunter, I would argue, is the second most-handsomest presidential son of the past 60 years after JFK Jr.

I've been reading the YouTube comments and checking Twitter reaction (here and here).
And shockingly, they are like 90% positive. I was expecting a lot more negativity.
But Hunter acknowledges his flaws, just like Kimmel did when he apologized for his blackface last year.
America is a very forgiving nation. And Americans root for those facing troubles to triumph and change. And acknowledge that they have changed. And acknowledge their flaws and mistakes.
But the Republicans, backed by their leader Trump, would never admit to making mistakes. They are absolutely flawless and any thing they do wrong is not their fault.
That's why the Hunter story has failed to gain much traction outside of right-wing media, despite the hooker pics.

Joe Biden already won the election, so what's the motivation now?BearForce2 said:okaydo said:BearForce2 said:

That's one way of looking at it, except Hunter Biden's life isn't a rags to riches story, he is white privilege. The reason why his story hasn't gained traction in the media is because its been suppressed by the media to avoid embarrassment for the Democrats and to win the election. Everyone knows this, we know you know this.
He's the president's son so he can't hide forever. Bring him back slowly, start with Kimmel, move on to other shows to promote the book, and you'll start seeing more of him in the White House and maybe a position somewhere in government by the end of this year.sycasey said:Joe Biden already won the election, so what's the motivation now?BearForce2 said:okaydo said:BearForce2 said:

There's hooker pics? Maybe I should look into this story.
I thought we're living in a systemically racist country? It's blue for you but it must be dark and cloudy for those that can't figure out how to get an ID year after year.AunBear89 said:

So your argument is that the media is conspiring to help Hunter Biden get a job in government?BearForce2 said:He's the president's son so he can't hide forever. The guy may well be a scumbag, but IMO his performance in these interviews isn't doing anything to hurt his father politically. He's done pretty well responding to everything.LMK5 said:
Here's what I really don't get about Hunter Biden. The guy is a first rate sleazeball and he knows he's a major distraction for his father, who I'm sure has been very good to him through thick and thin. Instead of slowly but surely extricating himself from the public eye, Hunter does the opposite. He goes on these shows, knowing he's going to be skewered and add to the family's embarrassment, but it doesn't deter him one bit because he knows he'll make a few more bucks in book sales. That makes it all worth it to him.
The guy's a scumbag.
I don't think it hurts Biden politically either, but I think it hurts him personally. Joe Biden is an elder statesman from the old school. To have your son parading around the country peddling a book which is being promoted largely on sleaze and illicit behavior just has to be a major embarrassment to any family, and nothing less than a middle finger to your father, who also happens to be President of the United States. Hunter is throwing the family name under the bus for his own gain.sycasey said:The guy may well be a scumbag, but IMO his performance in these interviews isn't doing anything to hurt his father politically. So if this doesn't hurt the family politically (which would seem to be the major downside risk here), how is he throwing them under the bus?LMK5 said:I don't think it hurts Biden politically either, but I think it hurts him personally. I assume that if Joe Biden personally objected to any of this he would have put the kibosh on it long before now.
All of this is public knowledge and something Hunter Biden talks about in his interviews. Again, not sure why him talking about it now is a problem for the Biden family if they don't think it is.BearForce2 said:sycasey said:So if this doesn't hurt the family politically (which would seem to be the major downside risk here), how is he throwing them under the bus?LMK5 said:I don't think it hurts Biden politically either, but I think it hurts him personally.
