Keep in mind though, that this "vaccinated people can spread delta variant stuff" is way overblown.

I'll have to disagree here. There is no way I'd trust the state- Republicans or Democrats- to issue or enforce mandates regarding a person's private health. They would overreach as usual and it would create an apartheid state of unvaccinated and- contrary to what this board thinks- it wouldn't be Trumpers but those at the bottom of the socio- economic pyramid. Those people would be pariahs whose private health decisions or lack of access would cost their freedom.
I do think private concerns have the ability to do this but this will still create a situation where some minimum wage kid at a restaurant has to enforce public health. Not good.
Delta for the vaccinated is a common cold. We need to stop freaking out and get more people vaccinated- and more people means young poor whites and poor African Americans and Hispanics. If this country had any social cohesion, peer or mentor pressure would do it but these people trust neither government or pharmaceutical company. If you can leverage compliance by denying access to travel, sporting events, concerts- that's to the benefit of public health and for the public good.

I held my nose and voted for Biden after wussing out and sitting out the 2016 presidential election. I've never taken much flak from my republican friends for the Biden vote because of, well..., Trump.

If you want to change that part of the Constitution, well, fine..In that case, the Congress and the States need to change that part to read 'does have the power under the following circumstances.....
