Donald Trump Predicts America Will End Within 3 Years

And he's going to help make it thus.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-predicts-america-end-002940784.html

How's this for a paradox? Donald Trump is predicting America will end in three years and is also hinting that he may run for office in 2024 three years from now.

The former president made the contradictory claims during a Newsmax interview on Tuesday with his former White House press secretary Sean Spicer. True to form, he also falsely claimed the 2020 presidential election was rigged.

After Trump said "our country has gone really downhill in the last eight months like nobody's ever seen before," he suggested, without offering any proof, that the country will end.

"And you go to these elections coming up in '22 and '24 we're not going to have a country left," Trump said. "The election was rigged, and we're not going to have a country left in three years, I'll tell you that."

Spicer then tried to end the interview, possibly because Newsmax is facing a $1.6 billion lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems for deliberately lying about widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election and defaming the voting machine company.

F'ing A-hole!!! If he's right, he'll be running for presidency of his mind. If he's wrong, he's another loser laughingstock, dragging foolish weak minded folks with him.

I like the bit I read yesterday how trump is apparently going for a makeover:
Less Orange, more grey (hair) and natural Florida sun.
And he's trimming up, losing weight - lypo, no doubt.

Sorry, jerk, no amount of makeover can soften the stench that emanates from your mouth, or from your fingers, (although, Twitter and Facebook bans have done a pretty good job at the latter.)

There are a lot of morons out there who think politics is a popularity contest and that their undying love for Trump is more relevant than like voting or the functioning of our republic. He's catering to them which explains a lot of what is happening these days. They would rather be told a story than the truth and they like his stories.

Here's a good high level twitter thread on why the authoritarian strain of the Republican party has gone unchecked and plays into Trump's proto-fascist wet dreams.

I don't think anything in here is that controversial or earth-shattering because it's become completely normalized. The republican party doesn't even bother pretending like there is any consistency behind their takes (eg Texas republicans pretending to care about personal freedoms by preventing COVID restrictions while simultaneously outlawing abortion and transitioning).

Meanwhile we have a bunch of ideologues both sidesing us as if there are no gradations of bad.

"Here's the bottom line: nobody has come up with a convincing explanation for how this authoritarian trend reverses itself."

What if tRump passes a clot the size of an apple fritter or his heart explodes like throwing a 50 pound bag of chicken grease off a 30 story building? At 5'11" in his bare feet and at 300 lbs, these scenarios are real possibilities. I don't see another cult leader in the pipeline. tRump snipped all their squirrel nuts off.
tRump is the only one with an advanced degree in hucksterism.

The other parties are the counterbalance to the Republican Party.

If the extremism turns off enough people then they will never win a general election.

The bulwark against the extremist drift of the GOP is that they are incredibly unpopular with younger generations, and there has been no sign of that trend reversing. Eventually the numbers are too heavily against you.

But they don't care that the clock will run out on the, just like nobody cares that the national debt will get over the edge, or that global warming will go beyond the tipping point.

People always just want more now, my step father used to say. Damned be the consequences, live it up for today!

This is almost on topic because it's about a former CFB player - Anthony Gonzales

Just more evidence of the rot of the party of Trump and how it will only get worse in the short-term. More than half of the pre-Trump republican caucus in the house has already turned over and we aren't done yet. One by one they are replacing regular conservatives with moron ex-cons and future ex-cons and the excessively online radicalized new right is cheering them on.

Quote:

Why Sane Republicans Are Purging Themselves

It looks like they're giving up, but for politicians like Anthony Gonzalez, a party run by Trump is not worth fighting for.

Anthony Gonzalez leaves no doubt about what he thinks about Donald Trump and his impact on the GOP. The former president, he says, is like a "cancer," and he has turned his party into a toxic and hostile environment.

"I don't believe he can ever be president again," he said.

But if Trump is the one supposedly headed for the exit, why is it Gonzalez who announced he would not seek reelection?

Last week, Gonzalez (Ohio), the 37-year-old former rising star, announced that he wouldn't stay and fight his Trump-backed primary challenger, walking away from what had once been a safe seat in Congress.
The decision was greeted with dismay among anti-Trumpers of both parties who saw Gonzalez's survival as a test of whether Trump's grip on the GOP could be shaken. It also came as a surprise. Gonzalez was an attractive candidate, with a strong resume and lots of cash, and he had out-performed Trump by nearly 7 points in November. Why would he hand his nemesis an easy win?

The answer is Gonzalez didn't quit because he feared he couldn't win, but because it just wasn't worth it anymore. Winning, it turns out, is not winning if the prize feels a lot more like a loss.

"You could fight your butt off and win this thing, but are you really going to be happy?" he asked. "And the answer is, probably not."

...

But that assumes the outcome is in doubt which it isn't. The Republican Party is already lost. And victory meant two more years trapped in a hellscape of crazified school board meetings, Trump rallies, My Pillow Guy insanity, Newsmax and Fox News hits, and a caucus run by Kevin McCarthy, a man without any principle beyond the acquisition of power.

So Gonzalez decided to become the latest Republican to walk away from it all.

...

The one unforgivable sin, however, is telling the truth about the 2020 election.

...

The result is a Trump-led purge of dissidents, but the bigger story and the one with longer-term implications may be the self-deportation of the sane, the decent and the principled, who simply opt to leave on their own.

Their political emigration is profoundly changing the face of the GOP, and it is happening at every level of politics, from local school boards to the United States Senate. Whatever the result of next year's elections, the GOP that remains will be meaner, dumber, crazier and more beholden than ever to the defeated, twice-impeached former president.

...

Gonzalez told reporters last week that he was confident he could have won his primary against Miller. But the father of two young children cited a rising tide of threats he and his family had to deal with after his impeachment vote. He recalled being greeted at the airport by two uniformed police officers, who were detailed to provide security. "That's one of those moments where you say, 'Is this really what I want for my family when they travel, to have my wife and kids escorted through the airport?'"

If we want to read a lot of jackasses posting on Twitter we can follow them.

No need to post their nonsense here.
