Everyone knew was doomed from the start because, as with all his "deals", he got fleeced by a superior counterparty who knew what it wanted and had a strategy to getting it. Flatter Trump for 5 seconds and he'll give you anything you want. He got the only thing he wanted - a press release where he could initially pretend the deal was good for America.
