I noticed you making many mocking posts like these (often without context or your own perspective since you probably don't want to do the dirty work of actually using your own words to mock others). There are only two reasons you do this:

1. By mocking about half of your fellow Americans, you feel better about yourself. You don't mock the other half since you need a place to set your pedestal. An easy way to feel superior that has nothing to do with you. Same key driver for bullies, racists, other bigots, etc. Rise in your own mind by pushing down others.

2. You are concerned that 50 percent of your fellow Americans are coming to this unfortunate conclusion from behaviors you would like to promote. You realize there may be a blind spot for you, a diverse point of view that you may not have considered that is driving this misplaced view by the right even if your baser nature wants to feel your side and only your side is ever right. Realizing that diversity can get messy, you are trying to have an open mind and understand how we can bridge the gap.

Who are we kidding. All this is about feeling superior. Nothing about introspection or diversity. Nothing about understanding. That is politics now. And that is why we will each get more extreme with blind cult worship for our respective party with perpetual war on the other side. We will never concede a single point to the other side.

Lol. Why are you accusing me of being a Republican?

"More than half of Iowa Republicans say modern America is reminiscent of NAZI GERMANY after third Trump indictment."

…and of that half, what percentage do you reckon could pass a 6th grade general knowledge history quiz?

Gee, you proved me wrong about your tribalism and never thinking your side is ever wrong.

Trust me, you are part of the problem, and all you are doing is just throwing up pom poms and doing splits to thrill those already in your echo chamber.

There are those on the right for whom it's all about owning the left, but there are more conservative posters here (including myself) who will stand up to the wackiness on the right than there are liberal posters who are willing to do the same on any of the wackiness on the left. Instead, for you, it's all about owning the right and not about persuasion, collaboration, or debate. Just about getting more cred and brownie points with those who will cheer anything that mocks the other side.

Well, apparently school and education or even accomplishments are no indications of intelligence.

So, who cares, right?

But I don't view the far left as very intelligent either. Their perpetuation of failed policies on economy, law and order, and parental rights seem very idiotic. It's as if history is offensive to them because of their feelings about gender pronouns.

As did a few Cal hoop players after splitting:
Tremaine Fowlkes, Shatay Legans, Dominic McGuire and at least one or two more that left our program and ended up Bulldogs. All during the Ben Braun Era, I believe.
So they went for the better education since I heard their classes are harder than those at UC Berkeley.

And what is your thought? Maybe with something other than reposting someone else's report or thought.

I don't think there is a right answer if China ever decided to invade Taiwan. We are not dealing with a country like Russia. Our economy would shut down if we shut down China. We would not have medicine, batteries, electronics, manufacturing, etc. They could also engage in better cyberattacks. And China has a better naval force than we do. And more manpower if we need to put boots on the ground. And what Asian country will really risk their existence by going to war with China? What are your thoughts? Maybe some snide post or someone's else thoughts passing as your thoughtful consideration? Maybe scare them from invading by cutting more of the military budget?

You didn't ask me but I will answer. I would offer a fast track to US citizenship for taiwanese people and recruit everyone who has any knowledge based career in semiconductors from there.

We aren't going to stop China from taking Taiwan if that's what they ultimately want to do and unlike Russia they are a true military power with the resources to achieve their desired outcome. When you factor in our reliance on China for imports and exports, no US president is going to go to war with China, regardless of their human rights violations. Unless they attack US citizens in a US territory, we won't have boots on the ground.

I think all of the gamesmanship right now is designed to slow them down so that we can get up to speed on building chips domestically (or at least I hope so) and to make China realize it will be a little bit harder than an annexation but we aren't really going to make it WWIII.

This is quite a bit different from China because unlike Ukraine, Taiwan isn't a stepping stone to another land grab and doesn't pose a threat to any of our other allies.

Taking Taiwan will impair our ability to access semi-conductors. We need the infrastructure that is in Taiwan in addition to the brain power. We need to bring that manufacturing back to the US (CHIPS is a good start) for national security. I think China wants Taiwan not only for electronic materials but also to have more control over the waters, and that would put pressure on our allies, but they are not looking to take over Japan or Korea.

Agreed - we need the infrastructure but unlike the london bridge we aren't going to move TSMC's fabs over brick by brick.

The CHIPS act is a good start and companies are increasing investment - I certainly don't think we should be putting ourselves in a position where we need to fight a war with China over Taiwan's fabs.

Lenin/Stalin/Mao and Hitler have proven that the evil exists across every economic philosophy. Each of those monsters created misery, fear and terror through insisting on creating uniformity on thought, speech, etc. It's about controlling words and demonizing a group. Morons use fascism as if it means only a form of control while praising communism / bolshevism. The only real difference between the two are the form of economic philosophy but not the method of governing. Both forms of government, including the far left and far right method of exercising power, are similar - create fear and shame through mandating uniformity of thought, controlling what words may be used, changing definition of words to gaslight people, using conclusion as basic premise that is complete opposite of prior premise, demonizing a whole group of people as inferior / less human / less educated / less clean than their chosen group, etc. The basic story of Animal Farm.

By the way, the Communist Manifesto should be shamed and not glorified by some on the far left.

Put aside your left leaning self-appointed hack role and tell us without snide dismissal that falsely passes for knowledge or insight whether you think a doctor should be treated that way for trying to assist with someone in medical need? Or is deference to those being arrested only applicable if they were shoplifting and not actually trying to provide assistance to someone in need?

Since everyone there was saying the person supposedly in medical need didn't need his help, Jackson shouldn't have continued forcing his help upon the person in question. As for his behavior in the video, Jackson should have complied with the officers.

Who is everyone? The non-medical sheriffs? Did EMT personnel arrive?

I 100% agree that he should have complied with the police. I am not excusing him. I am wondering why the standard changes for you depending on what color and political party is involved, especially when on is dealing with a doctor helping someone in medical stress and the other is in relation to criminal behavior? Why is it OK for you to say this now and then when Oski003 says it in another situation, he is a racist?

Please be guided by principle and be consistent instead of moving the goal post depending on which political party is involved.

Listen to the video. There were several background voices saying Jackson's help wasn't needed or wanted. As for the race of the people involved, I have no idea if they were white, black, asian or any other race. I'm also not supporting criminal behavior. That's your goal post shift, not mine.

Who are those voices? The police untrained in medical diagnosis?

So, why are you offended by this and not by the examples in Today, in Cops thread where the detained are clearly disobeying police orders? Who has the moving goal posts? I think in each case the detainee was being stupid by not obeying authority with guns and license to kill.
