This is yet another reminder that the GOP likes to play the role of fiscally responsible politicians but in reality they are spendthrifts who increase our deficit.
They could be passing a fiscally responsible budget right now but they are focused on a sham impeachment "inquiry" they even their witnesses call into question.
They cut taxes to satisfy their donors and lie to the American public about the laffer curve. When they do have concrete ideas for budget cuts it's always in two categories: first, cuts to the IRS in order to protect their tax cheats which just further increases our deficits and second, cuts to any services which don't directly benefit their donors. So they attack healthcare, education funding and all social services aimed at helping the less fortunate.
And yes, redecorating seems like a pathetic bipartisan tradition for cabinet members. That plus government funded travel. Most cabinet members (democrat or GOP) are NPCs who provide no value to the administration but manage to spend like crazy and then use their connections to enrich themselves and their families. The GOP only takes notice of this sort of thing when it's a Biden.
