If it had actually been a spy balloon (which is stupid on its face - nobody needs balloons for spying when spy satellites exist), the obvious thing to do would have been to capture and study it. The reason you blow it up is so nobody ever gets to find out how full of shyte you were.

Both Republicans and Democrats look equally stupid over this one, but not as much as the people who fell for the "There were three spy balloons during the Trump administration and he did nothing about them" propaganda. Those are the dumbest people of all.
Please explain how you capture a balloon that is too high for a helicopter to reach and too slow for a jet to grab without obliterating it.

With all the $$$$$$$$$ we spend on defense, are you telling me we can't capture a balloon? Just have Spider-man lean out of a plane or something...
