It appears to show a guy breaking into a car and stealing stuff in broad daylight with nobody doing anything.

Doing anything? Why would you get shot, stabbed and maybe killed to save personal property? Most of these guys have felony convictions and they have very little interest in being apprehended, so they are usually packing.

I meant that in the more inclusive way... no police response, etc.

What's very disturbing is the thieve's disregard for getting caught. Smash and grab in a crowded area in broad daylight with multiple witnesses. Brazen disregard for whatever system of law enforcement they have in S.F.

There is a good chance this wasn't even reported as a crime since it takes effort to do so with little likelihood the police will take action.

I didn't catch that but it happened in Dallas apparently so why didn't someone shoot him?

The Westfield San Francisco Centre is closing amid plunging sales and foot traffic. The decision comes just weeks after Nordstrom announced its exit from the city center.

There is a concerted media campaign, being led by conservatives, to make SF look bad. It's part of their entire false promise to their base.

A lot of the problems that people complain about are ones that don't really have a political answer - at least not a clear one. There is a reason that conservatives don't like to talk about crime in red states or red cities - because it won't make them look good.

There is no such thing as a "concerted media campaign" from the right to make SF look bad. SF has turned into a sh*hole because of liberals and their policies.

As previously discussed on this board, most of the violent crime in red states occur in blue cities within those states.

So what is the point of electing a Republican governor and Republican legislature if they are incapable of doing anything about the crime in their state?

Do you mean to ask what's the point of electing a Democrat mayor and legislature if they are incapable of doing anything about the crime in their cities?

So government at the state level is powerless to do anything about crime? Is that your take?
