Do illegal immigrants who sign up for insurance have to pay monthly premiums, just like everyone else?
I think there are no cost Medi-Cal options for Californians
Ah yes. Apparently so.
But my understanding is that medi cal sucks big time!!!

Medi-Cal enrollment has surged since 2014, but the percentage of California physicians serving Medi-Cal patients has dropped, a trend that is hampering access to care for enrollees. One in every three Californians (14 million) is dependent on Medi-Cal for health care, so this disparity also negatively impacts a patient's ability to access needed treatment, according to a recent study by the California Health Care Foundation.
There is a fundamental problem with Medi-Cal that is hindering patient access to care, and to specialists in particular Medi-Cal physician reimbursement is so low that physicians cannot cover the cost of providing care. Currently, California has some of the lowest reimbursement rates for providers ($18 for an office visit), creating an unsustainable disparity between the number of Medi-Cal patients and the physicians who are able to accept them as patients.
"Specialists are paid so poorly that they don't want to take Medi-Cal patients,"…..
I was in Spain this summer and had a kidney stone scare. I've had a couple last few years - drink more water! I needed to know how big it was and where the blockage was. If it was more than ~5mm, it wouldn't piss out and I'd need to consider surgery. So, I needed a scan. My Spanish friend explained there were two health systems: public and private. Cheap and more$. The public would take months to serve me so we went to Lorca for a scan. They said it was 7/8mm, but then it moved and I pissed it out a few days later.
Point is, I guess we are moving to this sane type of rationed care health system. And if you rely on the crap medi-care, you might die. So, don't do that!
