I didnt take any Physics classes at CAL.

But my experience with carbon fiber in later years as a rabid Formula One fan made me appreciate how brittle it can become once it cracks. It's also shocking to me that OceanGate never "scanned" the hull after manufacturing AND testing dives. for defects.

Instead, they used a sensitive accoustic device to LISTEN FOR POPS AND CLICKS.

I'm sorry, but common sense tells you that once you hear "pops" or "clicks".... it's game over.

I wonder if the passengers involved were aware of the deficiencies in the testing process of the Hull, let alone the fact that it was only certified for 4,300 feet.

Did they really think that losing cabin pressure at 13,000 feet would be like having a leak in the Hull of a canoe?

I was in the restroom of an airplane once when he hit turbulence. I was standing and my head hit the wall before my brain recognized anything happening. I was fine but it made me think a bit about how fast catastrophe can strike in a situation like that. Kind of reassuring too - the quickness of it.
