RFK Jr. advocates stopping the process of adding fluoride to drinking water, which is generating this kind of response from his usual critics:

Most countries don't add fluoride to their drinking water. Research from China and Europe determined that fluoride is a neurotoxin that reduces children's IQs. As a result, China actually goes out of its way to remove naturally-occuring fluoride from their drinking water.

The CDC maintains that fluoridation is "1 of 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century."

This is a great example of a case where RFK is right and the experts/"Science" is dead wrong. Politico has a surprisingly more measured take on this subject, citing experts that go against the prevailing CDC mantra:

Also, it's been known for decades that fluoridated water is a Communist plot to undermine America's public health.

You would think tRump would want to keep fluoride in the water so that the American electorate will continue voting for MAGA candidates for the foreseeable future.

Quote:

Nominated Department of Health and Human Services lead Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s questioning of vaccines and current health models makes him "more science-oriented than a lot of his critics," former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield said on "CUOMO."

"I mean, I'm probably one of the biggest advocates for vaccine. You mentioned that when I was CDC director, I would say that I think vaccines are the greatest gift of science to modern medicine. And I still believe that. Kennedy's not anti-vaccine. What Kennedy is about, is transparency about vaccine, honest discussion about vaccines, asking for the data to show that these vaccines are safe and they're efficacious."

"And the mere question of asking, what's the data for safety, many of his detractors say, okay, well, you're anti-vax. No, just show me the safety data, show me the efficacy data. I have high confidence that Kennedy is going to be a strong suborder of transparency on vaccines. And where the vaccine data shows that they're efficacious and a benefit to the American public, he will promote them."

"I think, Brian, we need transformational change. Right now we've created over the last 20, 30 years, we've developed a disease system. We need to make a health system. And when Kennedy says he wants to help make America healthy again, when I was CDC director, one of the challenges was we lost about 1.2 million people died of COVID. Other countries like Taiwan lost less than 10,000 people."

"Why did we lose so many people? We lost so many people because we're sick nation and Kennedy, he really committed to making us healthy again. And I do agree with you. We should all get behind them. Making a healthy America is not a partisan issue. We ought to get behind them and help them make us healthy again."

Just a few months ago, Trump called RFK, Jr a "liberal lunatic"
And he'd be right about that.

Trump is not ideological, he's purely transactional

The Democrats would be wise to learn this

This explains a lot! I had cavity after cavity when I was little, but my kids nowadays: nada.

OTOH, I had been wondering why they can't seem to memorize all the state capitals. They always tell me it's 2024 and nobody needs to know useless poop anymore (I don't let them use the s-word), but now I'm blaming their reduced IQs!

LOL. Alternate theory: He wants to prevent too many people from finding the best 'roids, the ones that he uses.
